I am actually convinced many of them have not even seen. Or they like watch the movie on their phone while playing fortnite on their computer.

I think its contrast that is needed, at least with the picture here it appears a bit washed out and pretty much all shades of brown or orange so he doesnt really stand out from the background, they need a more contrasting colour to draw your eyes in and make the design 'pop' more imho. That being said, this character design might look better in different lighting.

Thanos was actually based on Metron not Darkseid. But because of how they drew Thanos to be huge and muscular compared to Metron, the similarities to Darkseid started.

I remember back when the first infinity war trailer leaked and not liking thanos' design. Not due to the design itself, it was fine at least, but because he looked different to how he did in GotG and it really bugged me. Of course now infinity war and endgame have been and gone, I prefer the new thanos design and believe it's more memorable, and I think that will likely be the case with the majority of people who hate on the darkseid design

Darkseid isn't blue; his suit is blue. A lot of fans have also played Injustice 2. If they had just used that design and made it more photo realistic there wouldn't have been any complaints.

If you wanted to convey that you think people are mad because his outfit isn't blue then you should write that; otherwise, people are gonna think what I thought. Words have meaning also, I don't think people are mad. I think people, like me, are disappointed because he really looks kind of regular and basic. If you dropped this model in any other movie I'm sure the universal response would be, "Meh". Just like Malekith in T:TDW was meh. Just like Green Goblin in AS-M2 was Meh.

It's the shoulders that's throwing everyone off. As a guy who's been weightlifting for 15 years now, I can tell you that Darkseid's shoulders are too small. They need to be broader. Enough to make his arms fold inward, not outward how they currently are. And broader shoulders would also make his back look bigger and give his upper torso the "V" shape. But yeah, it's the shoulders.

DC would’ve been able to evolve Darkseid up and polish the design if he stayed relevant in mainstream like Marvel did with Thanos. But with a mediocre overall reception and a basically erratic plan for their film universe, DC lacks the longevity to have these characters develop, in both story and aesthetics. Sad, because this universe had so much potential.

People complained about captain America’s outfit in avengers so much they took the advice and changed it and comic book accuracy doesn’t mean much if if looks bad, people hate the cgi army vs heroes in mcu movies because it looks bad and doesn’t carry weight, which is the main problem with dceu they crutch on average cgi baddies and environments that people can’t immerse themselves into the film because everything feels fake. Remember this is nothing new Star Wars prequels had the same complaint it not a new problem.

While one could argue that slowing things down may have been copying the MCU (there's no winning with fanboys from either side tbh) they really skipped over establishing their "expanded universe" and went straight for completely unearned plots and payoffs. There was one movie before BvS. That's it. But they expect the audience to care about those two fighting one another? There are zero stakes because there's no relationship between those characters at risk. Superman dying? Didn't feel like a whole lot because again, there's not enough established to care. Then you get Suicide Squad which is... Well it doesn't do anything really. But then we get Wonder Woman and we finally get some good character development. Then we got Justice League... Which then introduces the entire other half of the team we haven't met or seen beyond email attachments two movies ago. Plus the resurrection of Superman! It was a mess. So sure, now there have been 4 movies between that only two of which are relevant in the grand scheme of the rerelease of JL so maybe there's... Aquaman I guess that has been a little better developed? Regardless, we now have this 4 hour bloated ass movie that still needs to: introduce Flash and Cyborg, which also leads to explaining Mother Boxes so Cyborg's shit makes sense, Steppenwolf, putting the team together, the resurrection of Superman, introduce Darkseid and establish HIS motivations, plus cramming in Joker, Deathstroke, Martian Manhunter, and a bunch of others. It's too much even in a 4 hour movie. Even if they're still saving Darkseid for more later it's just really hard to feel invested in ANY of it because of how poorly laid out this "expanded universe" has been. The MCU is not perfect but it seriously took the time to get things laid out. I think there's some good stuff in the DCEU and plenty of great characters but it's just hard to care when they don't get their time to be built up.

Give the movie a chance, then maybe it will surprise you. If it doesn't, well, you still get to be the guy that you wanted to be in your conversations. But, sure. Whatever bursts your bubble. And, yes, it definitely won't be enough to save or redeem DC but at least we are getting a good thing out of the unsatisfactory things that they did. @@batavenger1022 Thank you! I'm greatly annoyed over Eternals race/sexual prefence swap and still salty about what they did to the real Captain Marvel's and Ms. Marvel. That said, however, Marvel has used a blend of the Ultimates which can pacify us fans somewhat, me at least. But Eternals, I think Jack "King" Kirby wouldn't be happy with the change there. I think. Now, I'm not sure about different DC lines but Darkseid looks good to me. I think Jack "King" Kirby would have been very pleased with it. DC scores points for that in my book.
