First Warmastered run \o/ Big improvement mostly based on not forgetting an item, but there's a couple new routes that saved some minutes. -- Watch live at / aftermathrar
Finally I got over the golemn in the beginning. Took me like 20 tries of trying to match your movements and find the right spots to jump on the invisible platforms. But yeah, I finally got over and now have the extra health tanks. Thanks Aftermath :)
@@aftermathrar Hey man. Do you know if there any secret bonuses to doing the Tormented Gates' Shadow Lurker challenges perfectly? I know that beating Defender with at least 3 partners alive gives you an otherwise missable Empty Vessel. But what about the other Lurker challenges? Do they also secretly have such bonuses?
Using the lock-on, hold back or sideways, then hold your sword attack button and mash the dash button. Holding attack tries to give you the uppercut, but the dash move cancels out of the startup of it. The uppercut cancels out of the dash too, so you get the fast dash. The gun dash is done by holding lock-on and activating aim mode, then jumping, side or back dashing, then shooting the gun. The gun will cancel the midair dash and keep your momentum until the animation is over. If you jump as soon as you land and repeat it, you can move really fast.

It's a trick on the PC version. You hold your Use Gear button and then tap left click once to start the laser. It'll continue shooting until you let go of Use Gear. Not really sure why it works.
Hey Aftermath. Trying to learn the sword cancel but my timing sucks on it. Is there any advice on how to practice? I have just about every other trick down but I cant seem to sword cancel. Oh I'm on PC as well Thanks!!And keep up the great runs
I know what worked best for me was to think of it as one motion from blocking into the sword swing, so basically an alt-click. I wouldn't worry about canceling the sword as quickly as possible, but learning how to go start the swing right after doing the block. Once I had that in muscle memory, it was natural for the overall speed to increase. Let me know if this helps, good luck on your runs!
RT HJ At the very first scene, War loses his strength twice but he, by missing these two checkpoints, remains his power until beating Straga. This may result in the number of health bars being 4, instead of 2.
By using a car to jump over the Golem in the prologue, we skip the cutscene that takes away 4 lifestones. They aren't taken away by anything else, so we have extra from the start.
Right after you hit with the sword, tap Alt to block and cancel the attack. Once you've let go of Alt, you can immediately attack again. It's tricky to get consistently at first, but just take it slow and remember to not hold any direction and to let go of block before attacking again.
@@moocher2121 Oh, that's one thing I forgot about. It's much easier if you don't have that move, since it activates really easily when trying to sword cancel. If you play another file, you'll find that it's much easier to perform if you don't purchase that move from Vulgrim.
The main reason is that since we mostly run any%, which doesn't buy any of them, they aren't routed into any of the fights. There hasn't been too much testing on where the abilities would save time and when would be a good time to buy it.
@@pawlogates Yep, I clear out the shop near the end to unlock all the lv1 abilities. It looks like 2:42:00 is the start of the last shopping trip and 2:42:33 is where I buy all the abilities and then show the stat screen for completion.
The van throw setup and following jumps around 1:20 skip the first cutscene that weakens War. By skipping that, I'm able to use Chaos form during the rest of the Prologue and the game never removes the 3 bars of health it normally does. This was a skip found by Akheon even before I started running and it's brilliant. The "bottles" are the Vessels that contain the various single-use items you can buy from Vulgrim. In any% we just keep the one that we get early on so we can buy two Possessions for recharging Chaos form. They're basically Zelda bottles so we call them bottles.
Oh, yeah, I should have mentioned that. To get extra height, you can tap block which lets you on top of the invisible platforms. I guess attacking works too, enjoy your 4x starting HP!
