When I first fought the Gorewood, I realised how difficult this game was going to be. Than it turned out I wasn't supposed to fight it at lvl 3... I killed it though.
Like most bosses, he only has 3 attacks, all telegraphed heavily... the thing with this game is that you can kill bosses way earlier than you're supposed to (I always beat Thane as soon as I meet him so I can lvl up faster, then I kill Gorewood lvl 3 too) because their attacks are easy to counter. Argul who is lvl 20 can be beaten easily at lvl 11-12...
All 3 games have their weaknesses but honestly the thing that kept me coming back was the style and art direction. Stellar work making these games really stand out from the creative team(s) Also, who tf thought that giving Fury a whip would be anywhere NEAR as cool as war's massive fuckoff sword, or death's edgy and badass af dual scythes? cmon.
I like the concept of the "whip". Which in fact, its a weapon that transforms according to Fury's will, it just happens that her favorite form is a whip. It actually matches her personality. But yes, no where as cool as a big sword and two scythes that can transform into one.
@@Manudyne Bladed Whip that can grapple around like Spider-Man and can become multiple other weapons including a 'Fuck You' Lightning Spear and 'What's Gravity Really?' Hammer.
@@williambeck2372 a whip nonetheless. Just make it spine sword like they did in the only movie from Pacific Rim trilogy as far as I'm concerned (Pacific Rim 1) and I would be happy. Hell even old Aatrox style sword would be good but noooo some pissy flop decided that Indiana Jones was their favorite movie of all time.
This video is including the expansions, but the base game has a lot of them still. The Crucible of Carnage is a nice addition too with 4x 25 waves of enemy's to clear out.
Oh man, how have I never seen this game before. It's beautiful. The graphics are amazing, the character design spot on, and the love thrown into it so expansive. Inspiring me to go jump back into my project right now. O_o
Crow Father: Why should care about your brother's fate? Death: Because if don't... I'm gonna pull your beard off. Crow Father: You will not pass while I live. Death: Ah... You say to Death. I do ponder what will happen!
I think DS3 was made with lower budget than DS2, that’s why most DS3 bosses were like common enemies in DS2... because they big company went bankrupt before...
Samael is awesome. He knows everything that's happening, and toys with the horsemen for his own entertainment. Though he does seem to genuinely respect them.
And I also like how Death just came to him and was like, "Give me the key, or you die." To come to such a strong demon and say such a thing to his face is worthy of respect, I think.
[Spoilers] I loved the hell out of this game, but this video in particular highlights how much of a let-down the final boss was for me. He was the very font of Corruption, which had twisted every species in the Darksiders universe to do his bidding. After fighting angels, demons, undead, constructs, and Lovecraftian aberrations... the final boss is what, this slightly large dude? With the same green corruption aesthetic (without any added twist) every other boss has had? Come on! The Wailing Host was more imposing and impressive than this guy! Absalom SORELY needed a phase two where he transformed into some Cthulhu-level monstrosity for an epic final bout.
Kinda agree that the final boss as a letdown. Storywise it's just straight march into his layers and tadaa the boss fight. In gameplay, he felt like his nephilim form yet somewhat enhanced the corruption. Maybe even if he didn't have another form, he could've instead use some newer and more divergent attacks like arena manipulation (helps being a Champion of Corruption in his own Domain) that were found after said type of transformations while carrying out his physical attacks, the pattern easing out due to the difficulty that would come from both sides. Still, as a late game boss in itself, Absalom was a total beast.
design-wise he's alright, the horsemen themselves and other characters have demonstrated that you don't need to be a giant abomination to be super powerful. what disappointed me was how little HP he has and how directly you access the fight without going through some sort of final dungeon (coupled with the shortness of world 4).
Here are the time stamps in the description of the video (i know people who use mobile phones can access them now but I decided to add my own flavor to them) (btw if I say Death-copycat, I’m referring to Thane’s mission to hunt them down) 0:00: Ice Giant 1:02: (Crowfather) War, The Conquer and The Red Rider 6:21: Gharn, Corrupted Construct of The Cauldron 8:43: Thane, Axe-Wielding Maker 10:23: Karkinos, the Feral Bettle of the Drenchfort 13:55: Construct Hulk, The Corrupted Construct of the Lost Temple 16:16: Corrupted Custodian, Your ally turned dark from corruption 18:09: The Guardian, the most powerful construct to counter the Corruption 24:52: Gnashor, Undead Champion of the Gilded Arena 29:09: Phariseer, the first member of the Undead Council 32:08: Tormentor, Undead Soul eater of the Judicator’s Tomb 33:46: Bone Keeper, the Keeper of the Undead and Bone Giant, The Giant of the Undead 35:08: Basileus, The final lord of the Undead Council and Achidna, The first Death-copycat 38:35: Ghorn, the Second Death-copycat 41:07: Bheithir, a Dragon-like Abyssal Creture and the third Death-copycat 43:07: The Wailing Host, the Undead Guardian of the Inner Sanctum 49:38: Argul, the Deposed King 51:57: The Noss, Servants to The Destroyer (Abaddon) 53:21: Gorewood, the Final Death-copycat 54:26: Jamaerah The Scribe, A Corrupted Angel of LostLight 58:49: Archon Lucien, A corrupted Angel, Commander of LostLight, Keeper of the Angel Key, and Leader of the Scriptorium 1:03:39: Samael, Lord of the Black Stone 1:08:48 Soul Arbiter, The Undead, Poetic Master of the Soul Arbiter’s Maze 1:11:31: Wicked Killington, the Master of the Crucible 1:13:53: Mad Smith, the ancient Undead Construct-like Maker 1:16:28: the Abyssal Forge, the Mad Smith’s finest creation gone dark 1:20:51: the Frostbone Titan, The Undead Titan of Ice 1:23:12: Frostbane, The Abyssal Ice Dragon and Servant to Argul 1:29:39: Warmaster, a Demonic Commander of Hell’s Armies 1:32:17: Belial, The Demon Lord of Shadow’s Edge 1:37:00: Absalom, the Avatar of Chaos and the Final Battle
I love games like these where basically all that decides if you win or lose is your skill. When i first played this game i fought the deposed king really early while being woefully underequipped he almost oneshot me while i had to slowly scrape away at his health. I didn't manage it sadly but i got really close simply by keeping my wits about me. it was a slog and i didn't try it again after that time but simply that it was in the realm of possibilities was kind of eye opening at the time.
This masterpiece of a game was made and released in 2012? Feels like modern graphics and the storyline is golden, especially when you have played the trilogy. So good.
My dearest bruda you deserve more then a like here i just came in to see you fight samuel and arkhon the was you slayed them ahh spectacular snd i saw you killing others too awesome
I remember the deposed king was the toughest boss in order without taking any damage his hammer has huge hitbox if you miss time your dodge you are screwed spinnig attack isnt too bad but everything can go wrong if you dont handle pretty well
Darksiders the first game I play in my Xbox 360, Darksiders 2 was even better to. As Character, Death is one of the most badass, thank you very much for the video whit all the Boss Fight, you play very good.
His threat to Jamaerah always tickled the hell out of me. Like he’s just so done with all this roundabout bullshit that he’s not even trying to be diplomatic anymore; either give him what he wants or by god he’ll do things to your soul that Lucifer himself would shudder at. “Where… is… the key?” *_”WHERE IS IT?!”_*
@@novemberalpha6023 well yeah. it had a much larger budget than 3. 3 only had to sell 100k copies to get its budget back, and it did making it a success
PC platform deserves more hack and slash games like Darksiders 1 and 2. I didnt notice that that game has so many bosses (probably because half of them are mini-)
I'm kinda surprised you did Gorewood so late. From what I recall(although I've gotta admit I haven't played this game for almost 4 years) he's actually one of the earlier optional bosses and the first one from Thane's quest that you can fight.
@@darthplagueis13 my personal favorite set was the scythes you get from collecting all of the stat shards. Until I found my crit build, crit chance, ice damage possessed scythe set up. Nothing like massive criticals especially with echidna's fangs as the secondary. Nigh impossible to kill
Best and worst part of this game is your skill level improves your dps massively, and you start to almost never take damage. The problem is the last boss leaves most underwhelmed. He has an extremely easy move set to learn that barely punishes you, and if your like most and grind everything he goes down extremely fast.
revisiting this video after so long, i noticed that belial has a red head and it seems that his helmet is melted with its head too. so now we know what punishment was given to belial from lucifer in darksiders genesis
This game kicked my ass. And i played ALL of the 1st game. The two don't compare when it comes to levels of difficulty. The 3rd game is...easier when it comes to combat but i get lost after the first few boss fights.
How is DE on the PC? Like are there an abundance of bugs or anything? I was having issues getting mine to work back when it released. I haven't bothered booting it up since
