Well if masquerade will suck up three bakugan who's total power level is more than 900 then hydranoid will have no chances because he was using character card anytime with gravity chamber
When you realise the more Hydranoid evolved , the more tactical his abilities and cards became, compared to his just brute force abilities in his 1st form
I mean sure, his fusion ability "destruction buster" was also tactical but I'd like to think of it as a stepping stone to more stronger abilities in his later forms But meh, it is what it is
@@Kaijugan That might be because as he evolved, the higher brain power means that he no longer needs the ability cards to give commands. Think of it along the lines of having a brute force weapon that needs commands for everything, and later becoming a smart bomb where he can do a lot of attacks on his own, and the ability cards or a bonus instead of a requirement
I love that every season has a pseudo version of hydronoide. New vestroia has hades, gundalian invasion has dharak based on his base forme, metanium surge has horidian a three headed bi pedal darkus bakugan that is a rival to drago, even the reboot series has nillious and there own version of hydronoide. This big boy left quite the legacy
From the ones you mentioned i think Nillious is the worthy successor to all of them... 1. He's badass 2. Stronger than the protagonist if without the plot armor 3. Get stronger every release (except the ones after the Genesis collection for some reason) 4. He great toy form (my favorite one was from geogan rising because it looks exactly as the monster form but small) 5. Can fly
I mean, the similarities between Hydranoid and Hades were intentional as the Vestals based the latter on the former. Nillious was clearly meant to be a Hydranoid expy. Horodian had nothing in common with Hydranoid beside the three heads and Darkus attribute. Dharak is the most odd one here since his base form look nothing like Hydranoid, and he made a much better rival to Drago than Hydranoid due to how their character arcs mirrored eachother.
The first form of hydranoid and the design of dharak are awesome. To bad that we didn't see much more of hydranoid before he evolved into dual hydranoid.
Hydranoid could of been so much more powerful if Alice kept her counterpart’s will to get stronger. At the same time I’m sure alpha hydranoid was happier just relaxing and being free of worry with her but it’s a shame they hung the mantle man. Back in its second evolution he was the first bakugan to take down one of the ancient 6, and completely steal his power for its final evolution. People forget how big that feat is. His Gs would of been up there with Helios and drago if his quest for power continued
Hydranoid, his first evolution, was the Bakugan I wanted most as a kid. I played the game on my DS, saw him for the first time, immediately wanted him, but as I got older, I’m 21 now, I tried to search for him online, only to see he’s $300 minimum! What??? 💀
I remember as a kid, the Delta Drago vs Dual Hydranoid was my favorite since I was on the edge of my seat and the stakes were high because in the pervious episode you seen Hydranoid just wrecked everyone else and you just hope Dan and Drago wins but Masquerade always had something up his sleeve.
Or at least a season where the main focus is a different character that's not Dan... A season where Magnus and Nillious is star or finally give Leonidas the anime appearance he deserves and lead the whole season with a new brawler...
Nah, Hydranoid has no personality, no meaningful relationships with other characters, no backstory, no nothing. A season solely focused on him would be boring as hell.
When me and my boys played Bakugan, we always just played with the shows abilities and ignored the real abilities. They messed up by not making the game in the show and the real game play the same. The real game was boring AF. I watched the show over and over and recorded every ability for every attribute and what it did and compiled a list for each attribute of all abilities within that attribute just so me and my friends could play it like the show.
It seems they can’t both right. First it was the show being good while the game sucked. Now with the reboot, the game improved but the show isn’t as good.
The Wiki has a list of all abilities and gate cards from the series. Not the fandom one but the official one. Also, If there was a main cast Bakugan released in the Battle Brawlers waves in Japan, they got their signature moves released as ability cards. But those didn't release in the USA, as they were a part of the original trading game that released in 2006. It follows different rules than what we saw with the international releases. As an example: I've seen Boosted Dragon (Drago), Mega Impact (Gorem), Earth Power (Gorem), Crystal Fang (Tigrerra), Grand Down (Reaper), Double dimension (Reaper/Hydranoid), Darkus Gazer Dual (Dual Hydranoid), Water Refrain (Preryas), and Dive Mirage (Preyas) Here is a list from one of the waves to get an idea of what it looked like: bakugan.wiki/wiki/BB
Hydranoid is so powerful, too bad it didn't have enough screen time in later seasons. The same goes for the rest of the old gang. You only shoved a flash falcon fly, but there is also a regular falcon fly(it can be seen in episode 9(time stamp: 8:30), 13 and 23).
@@koalafromtomorrow5656 let’s be honest, Masquerade would have absolutely slaughtered Shadow, even MAC spider, and it wouldn’t have even been close. And even if masquerade did go berserk Dan could have easily beaten him and calmed him down because at that point Drago was WAY ahead of Hydranoid in terms of power compared to the end of season 1, where it was already confirmed that Drago was stronger than hydranoid
@@alexbobenrieth3888 at this point hdryanoid could still tie with any of the brwalers yes dan and drago could him her down but it wouldn't be easy for them cause when drago was resrcrtued he Lost most of his power then he got a power from apolinor and evolved but still was stronger than hydranoid it was only when he asorbed all the elements did evovle again would have been able to beat hdryanoid easily
Merge shield was just a generic darkus ability so he could of used it with any version of hydranoid making Masquerade very op along with his other abilities.
Thats the thing. It was to good to be used for the villain. Because at any point and time, he could have used it as his Trump card. Making sure his opponents used up all their good ability cards that boosted or lowered his Gs. Then used merge shield to take all of that power for himself.
@@sachibombastic754 with all of of masquerades unique abilities and intelligence, masquerade would definitely be the strongest villain if they kept him around, not to mention Dan only defeated him because of plot 😮💨

I'm pretty sure there was a dubbing error where gazer exceedra and darkus gazer duel are actually the same ability but they just say it different Just like how they say death trident in new vestroia when it's actually the same ability "terminal trident"

I was today years old when I realized that Alpha Hydranoid's Destruction Grind and Chaos Leap Sting were both previously used in the last episodes of Season 1. Literally the only new ablities he ever used in New Vestroia was Indigo Nightmare and Death Trident (?).
Merge shield was the most broken ability. Able to take all the gs gained then give that to hydranoid without any downside. Honestly, if that card got upgraded. It would have evened out the battlefield from 1st to last season. Before reduction effects happen. But if done in tandem with his other stronger moves. Like destroy vanish. Then its a rap.
@Alucard But if we are being realistic. Merge shield is the better one for battles against non fodder bakugan. Gravity chamber is pretty much solid but fails against named bakugan with high G levels.
If you look at the ability cards and the numbers/buffs each one grants, the original hydranoid actually has more going for him than Dual Hydranoid. The evolved one is supposed to be stronger lorewise and in base gs, but if you stack all abilities, he's actually at a disadvantage.
After 1 season, Alpha Hydranoid must have more abilities, but unfortunately the only ability added is Indigo nightmare and chaos lipstick. Alice is weakling, because of her Hydranoid lose to Shadow Prove, Hades and Mac Spider . I am sure that if Masquerade had been instead of Alice, Hydranoid would have been improved and more powerful.
Thankfully there's a what if video on IF Alice was the Darkus Brawler of New Vestroia instead of Ace, being partnered with Percival would've really developed her character allowing her to bring out Hydranoids true potential when he comes back.
Alice needed more screen time, i mean she kinda was allways on screen given her in show predicament but i mean she herself needed more time plus her being the Brawlers´s first Darkus fighter would have been awesome

Watching the old bakugans… I really don’t know why the reboot is not using some of them. Bc they feel so repetitive season by season (just dragons and foxes and some different, but nothing THAT impressive) I would like to see a reboot sirenoid or something aquos like preyas and elfin. And with ventus birds like… not a T. rex

Man, looking back at it, Alice should've kicked Shadow's in that Hades v Hydranoid fight. Idk why they regressed Alice in the 2nd season, but if they disnt ahe would've stomped him despite the brawler ring rust.
Idk about that. Mechanical Bakugan are just on a completely different level that than season 1 Bakugan to the point where even Dan and Drago needed to use Perfect Core cards to win some of their fights with the Vexoes. Even if Hydranoid didn't get nerfed down 50 Gs, I doubt it would've changed the outcome of that brawl.
@soberman1958 Regarding Drago...this was more so in regards to destroying the dimension controller. Mylene had upgraded it prior to the battle so they couldn't conventionally overload it by stalling

Destruction Grind is the same ability as Destroy Vanish. For some reason the dubs in all 4 seasons are messed up so they end up having several names for the same ability depending on the episode. You can check the official Wiki
@@originalbakugan7671 destroy vanish was also used in the dub when drago and hydranoid fought the bakugan. Even if the dub messed the names up, it's a worthy conclusion as it is a different attack alltogether

Okay, not really. First off, Chaos of Darkness is incredibly versatile, allowing Hydranoid to attack anywhere. Similarly, Dual Gazer does this, while boosting Dual Hydranoid's power level. And finally, Death Trident decreases his opponent's Bakugan's power level by a whopping 300. This is also not counting the generic Darkus abilities like Auragano Revenge, or for that matter, Alpha Hydranoid's Destroy Vanish
