The fact that this guy is so full of himself that he thought he could convince the jury in that community to just let him go. The delusion, narcissism, victim mentality, I’ve been bullying people to get my way my whole life, is strong with this one.

@@loridennis2989 no, he knows exactly what he’s doing. Problem is that he thinks it’s working. He thinks he is a “god fearing man who truly cares about people, is a loving father, and is just trying to go home after having himself suffered at the hands of this crime.” Truth is, he lives opposite of the Bible and uses it as a prop. He has no regard of human life and will take out anyone or anything in his way. He will then lie and save himself after running over 100s of people will his vehicle. He has 4 kids by 4 different women, 2 of those living in states far away from him. He SA’d a minor and impregnated her and was found guilty of it (Erika Patterson). He owes thousands of dollars in back child support, but he “loves his kids”. He thinks serving a year in jail waiting for this trial should be enough punishment and that the jury should just let him go home because he supposedly suffered too. He just wants to be back on the streets, committing crimes, not getting a job, doing drugs, living with mommy, knocking up more women and not taking care of his children. He should’ve been swallowed at the least but if not he deserves one bullet to end all of the suffering from the victims. He isn’t going to learn a lesson in jail. He is a known gang member and will be well protected in jail. All he is going to do is waste more of the hard working tax payers money getting a free ride with 3 hots and a cot for the rest of his life. Save the money and end him.

She has been criticized for going along with him so much and not being more firm with him, but that is to make sure he doesn't get a new trial on appeal. A common tactic for defendants found guilty on high publicity crimes and trials. They always file an appeal on the claim of judge or jury bias due to the high profile nature of the crime and case. The Jury has the power to nullify the state's case by finding him not guilty which didn't happen as he is guilty as sin! Too many eye witnesses AND surveillance cams 'nailed' him. Since Michigan no longer has the death penalty and Brooks had no defense, he had nothing to lose by defending himself and claiming his rights were violated so the Judge made sure she gave him enough rope to hang himself. lol He will not prevail on any of his appeals as no Judge who looks 'at the record' in this case would find any error of fact nor any violation of Constitutional rights. The only way Brooks will leave prison is in a body bag. I hope the people of Michigan work with their Legislators to get the death penalty reinstated for mass murderers like Brooks. I'm positive that if he was facing the death penalty v life in prison w/o parole, he would have had the public defenders' office represent him and try to get LIFE v Death that he deserves!

Never mind the fact that it would’ve brought in that evidence (the lyrics on his music video) that would have shown to the jury this might have possibly been racially motivated. I used jury nullification in 2006, I was a juror on a theft case and voted not guilty based soely on jury nullification. A man was arrested for stealing 2 cans of baby formula, he was an unemployed single dad. I was aware of jury nullification long before the trial, during jury deliberations I didn't tell my fellow jurors or the judge I was voting based on jury nullification (I wasn't required to). I simply voted not guilty with no discussion or explanation given to the other jurors. The man had confessed to the theft when he was questioned by the police. Because he confessed, the jurors thought they were legally obligated to vote guilty. Everyone voted guilty but me.... they tried to convince me but I stayed quiet and kept saying not guilty. A jury would possibly nullify if they think the defendant should not be punished for wrongdoing, Like stealing a potato to feed your children, this idiot killed and injured people and he thinks the jury would be willing to nullify. What a fool.

He's still arguing subject matter jurisdiction since day 1 after she gave him a written statement denying it and actually telling him what it is and why it's not relative so he's now claiming he did not receive it since he does not accept it when it has zero relevance. There's not even any such thing as a tacid agreement or lawful law. And nullification is not used in a murder trial and even nullification can be revoked and is used for drug convictions where the people feel the punishment/ sentence isn't correct for the defendant.

This reminds me of the many situations when Matlock asked the judge if a ruling was lawful law and the judge said "No, it's not lawful law. You caught me. This case is dismissed."

He could have argued jury nullification until he passed out but I can imagine after they saw the videos of him in the car plowing through people…it wasn’t going to happen. At this point, even he knew it was over…he was stalling being accountable. It’s classic narcissism.

She was never in legislation. She was in litigation. He is a joke. Also, he really thinks that he can make the jury feel sorry for him so that they will nullify. The jury wanted to see him pay.
