It's almost here! Bristol Rhythm and Roots Reunion is only two weeks away and we are all excited to have Darrell Scott back in Bristol on Friday, Sept. 16th on the State Street Stage! Here is Darrell the last time he was in Bristol performing Guy Clark's "Desperados Waiting For A Train" and paying tribute to Guy's legacy only days after Clark had passed away.

Oh, what a story teller. Darrell takes a song and makes it his own. It may be a cover but damn, it sounds so right when Darrell sings it. When Darrell sings a song it changes, a song becomes a true story like the troubadours of old they created a whole new song when they sang, this is what few men/women do----Darrell does it in spades.

Great song and great singer. I was introduced to his music today on WNCW. This song reminds me of my old man, my pop. Definitely reflects our relationship. I got home about 48 hours before his death. I was an 18 year old soldier. I think of him everyday and songs like this bring a tear to my eye.

One of the great songs beautifully rendered but almost everyone misses the subtlety of the last chorus: throughout the song they are "like" desperados waiting for a train, but after it reveals that the train is death we "are" desperados waiting for a train. Listen to Guy sing it. He never sang "like" after the last verse.

going to see this man tomorrow night in Cork , Ireland . the best i have heard in last 10 yrs , such feeling such soul , great musicians and singers out there but little soul , this man has it in spades , long may he ply his trade .

I just discovered Darrell a few months ago. I'm 72, and can't believe it's taken me this long to find this music. Just saw him at a 100 year celebration for Doc Watson in Brevard NC. He was fantastic...

awesome cover, one of the best in my eyes. Thank you Darrel he will always be in my heart as I hope he is yours. I loved your tribute to him at the Rocky Mountain Folk Fest this year 2016.
