I think that if you focus on lea's and Darren's voices it's really easy to aprecciate the song and the screams will barely be heard Did that make sense?
I think most people who trash Lea in the comments section are too young to appreciate her talent. They confuse her real self with characters she played on TV. She was, without question, the most talented singer on Glee. Period. Full stop. There were of course, many other talented voices like Naya, Colfer, Darren and Jenna (she is so underrated it's damn near criminal). But you must understand that the majority of the times you may have heard these others sing....they were lip synching to pre recorded STUDIO soundtracks. Heavilly "produced" and auto-tuned. Take all of them out to the middle of the parking lot with no mics, no amps....just pure vocal ability...and Lea would crush the lot of them. (No, I'm not a "fanboy". I'm a 61 yr old former Audio Engineer)
The idea that autotune somehow covers bad singing needs to like end. Yes autotune can help certain singers reach specific notes but if you’re shit at singing, the autotune will not help that. You will sound awful still just slightly better than the average vocals. I’m sure most people on glee have amazing vocal ability but everyone has their bad days. There’s a few people on the cast that had the same amount of training so I’m sure she’s not the only one who has that raw singing ability. I mean amber Riley has always sounded amazing live and so has Darren Criss
As someone who dislikes listening to Ellen Greene's speech impediment as if it is genius, I enjoy this well sung performance. Too bad I cannot find a Greene free version of this show on Spotify.
