i've seen my fair share of florence interviews and i've noticed how she gets flustered and almost angry when the interviewer praises her too much, like when this guy mentioned that she won a lot of awards... it's because she's so humble. love her
I read in an articles about the dyspraxia. My brother also has dyspaxia and I can see it is quite a strain on him. I'm amazed at Florence's success, despite all of these conditions. ^^
She looks like a grownup Pebbles Flintstone with her hair like that. She seemed to be genuinely shaken up when Alexander McQueen was brought up, though.

@theskyisround I recommend to everyone Tennyson's poem "The Lady of Shalott." Many believe it characterizes the tragedy of the "artist's dilemma." The "artist's dilemma" arises when people feel compelled to create art about the world but can only do so by viewing it at a distance, removed from it. They are consistently caught between the desire to make this art or actually live in the world and experience it. Neither way leaves them completely satisfied. I so see Florence suffering from this.
Florence has dyslexia and dysmetria and has self-diagnosed herself with ADD, OCD and insomnia. She's probably pretty neurotic (most geniuses are) and social excursions like this one probably aren't her forte. Some artists (*cough* Lady Gaga *cough*) are all about the public eye, but Florence seems to be the kind of person who's interested mainly in doing music.
According to sources that are MUCH more reliable than Wikipedia, Florence is dyslexic, dysmetric and dyspraxic, which come together to explain a lot of her shyness and physical awkwardness. As a fellow dyslexic-dyspraxic, I'm happy to see her in the spotlight. condition be damned. However, if this is the elephant in her living room, not acknowledging it could be a potential issue in the future. I do understand, though, the embarrassment of the brain constantly mixing the wrong signals.
The worst part is feeling "not good enough," something anyone with any kind of disorder (no matter how mild) experiences. Hell, for years I didn't know the name for why I can't walk a simple straight line, or hold a glass unless it's in a ham-fisted death grip. Now I'm rather blase about my condition... although it's frickin' embarrassing when I pull a motorcycle on top of me (AFTER I'd ridden it to Point B without incident, no less)! :-D
being interviewer is gotta be the most shitty job in the entertainment industry as far as asking stupid questions, especially nerve wrecking 1s like "how did it make u feel when u won the nomination?," etc... artists don't enjoy being put on the spot, they probably just want to avoid the interviewer entirely & get on with their lives, but i guess certain entertainment demands some kinda public presence when ur big like that. i feel sorry for many artists who have to submit to such demands.
