Greetings. G'day Dave from 🇦🇺 Australia. Recently subbed. I'm a beginner...but I enjoy your enjoyment of listening to your good self. Thanks for your knowledge and helping other's. Have a great day and week ahead. All the best for 2020. ps...I hear them creaky floorboards walking on concrete haha. Cheers Dave.
Thanks for the videos dave, I’ve only just recently started playing darts again but I’m taking it serious this time and your videos are helping no end!
Thanks Dave for improving my game no end, great tutorial , I still get beat by better players but I don’t get beat by much, so I am improving and I enjoy playing more and more.
Your videos are excellent Dave. Simple explanations. I am working on the mechanics of my throw. Hopefully see improvements in time. I need to get glasses though. Short sight is going. Can feel the strain when throwing.
dave. i love watching all your videos. loads of information and really good advice, broken down in simplistic and yet intuitive fashion. oh... and nice "rip" half way through the video. hahaha. cheers from across the pond!
Thanks Chris I sat Stuart my dog down and he has confessed to the letting of the wind on my last video. I was going to withdraw his treats for the day but seen as he is nearly 17 years old so about 110 in our years I let him off. Cheers Dynamite Dave LOL LOL LOL
Been murder lately after I said in another video . Got a designa stand 3 days ago after not managing to practice , just a pint and a throw on a thursday which was no use . Taking points on board and kinda starting the basics again,so your videos are helping Dave . Have managed about dozen 180's since got stand 6 last night . I had severe dartitis for many years and throw was so natural and quick but had to restructure my throw over last few years and is now very mechanical and slower but it works apart from odd snatch and will hold on to odd dart . Not many can say recovered from Dartitis .
That's very true buddy i have helped a good few through it now and a total change is usually what it takes any and i mean any trace of the old throw and the demons drag you back and ruin your throw...
Greetings from Salzburg, Austria. Your videos are the very best, I've watched yours over and over and always learn something new. I have a video suggestion 'How to motivate your girlfriend or wife' during lockdown and to take the game seriously and stop just chucking them :) Okay back to my Dart-Bot App I guess Haha
Just wanted to say thanks for your advice in this video. Just started playin about a month ago. But today I decided to place a camera facing me. Just watching myself throw I corrected my elbow going slightly to the right. And my throw is more consistent.
Fantastic video as always Dynamite Dave it should how the mechanical throw works thanks for the squeaky floorboards that made me laugh but as you always say talk to the ockey
Thanks, really interesting. You mention consistency and reducing variables but it’s noticeable from the side profile that your head is in a different position to the wardrobe behind you. When you throw the 180 your chin is in front on the wardrobe, but before that behind.
Yes unfortunately perfection is for the A.I and gods if they exsist one is impossible to achieve the other to prove. Its all a matter of degree buddy.🎯🎯👍👍
Love your videos and it is helping me improve a little, so a big thank you for doing them. I do have about the mechanical throw as outlined in this video in reference to the elbow being level - is this still the case when shooting at the bottom of the board like D3? It seems to me the only way to shoot a D3 or any of the numbers at the bottom of the board is to lower the elbow down a bit, but I would love to hear your take on that.
Keeping the elbow up is achieved by tilting at the hips but keeping the upper body straight. This video should explain how it's Done ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IKAKAvwQ6qI.html
Hi Dynamite Dave. You talk about the importance of a good stance. Look at the difference between your 100s throw and your 180 throw. Compare your chin position on both. Use the dartboard in background as guide. You're closer to the board and lower on your 180 throw... how about a video on practising with purpose....
Hi there Davo you have really inspired me to become a darts player now I clap bots in the pub and milly row on that shit. These tips have taken me to a better place in life Mr Dynamite you have blown me away I average 180+ too so thanks mate, I am on scale to become the world champion and my celebration is to stif the curry you are unit mate do you want a game of darts? My Darts name is Miah's Magic so just drop a quick Google search my guy and have a toss over my skills I'm sure you'll enjoy that and your creaky floor board is different gravy Love Miah 👍🏾
hey Dave I've started playing darts 14 months ago and your videos have helps me so much . the first 7 months I didn't play against one person , just practicing myself everyday for 4-6 hours, my question is when I approach the oche witch is the winmau rubber mat I tend to spend a little to much time setting up , I think it's cause I don't have something to kick any suggestions
O yes there is a couple of options one is this new raised oche that fixes to your mat so you can still lift it up. rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F223166722169
I live in Newfoundland Canada and the only way to get that is to order online , where it's so heavy shipping cost is way to much , more then what it's worth . any option what I could rig up to it at home ?
Hey Dave, im consistent at about 78-83 ish over a big sample. But it just feels like a plateau. I know I can do better because I have got a couple of 100+ games in. Im trying going back to the basics like you said and just have a solid stand+throw but its hard to maintain it every time. Got any tips for that? Or is it just practice practice practice?
hey Dave, I need to get some of this advice down. Are both of your feet flat on the ground? I also see you throw left handed. Are you left eyed dominant? I throw right handed but I’m left eyed dominant.
I developed it over two years or so I intend to make a video all about it soon so hit that notification button and it will pop up soon... cheers D Dave...
That was quite clearly and audibly a "Shart" @9:08! I know it! & the expression on your face tells me it was a 60/40 for you until you added some force to it strengthening the odds in favour of a liquid launch :D Im assuming you continued for the remainder of the video in the same trunks and britches then! :D
Dave I’ve only been playing since January , I’ve only hit 180 once and my throw/arm is all over the place. Your video on putting my arm across from my eye helped me but I need a bit more advice to help me. Any ideas would be appreciated
What is the best way to choose what weight darts to throw? I have a good throw but I'm torn in which weight and shape I'm best with.. Let me EDIT this a bit now that I've watched more of your videos, great videos by the way, I threw the same set of steel tip throughout my childhood and into my 20s, they were my father's spare set, but they were given to him by his father from when he traveled to england, so when I moved across the country i had to leave them behind due to his emotional attachment to them, and I never knew the weight or length.. the state I moved to is a soft tip dominant scene, so I can not find steel tips to hold or try out, and have to order off the internet, I have ordered multiple sets but it's getting extremely expensive and none of them feel as natural as my original set, what do you reccomend?
It's one of the few things that is down to how you feel. I personally tell players to choose darts on how they fit your grip ie I usually go for a tapered front end like the Carrara C3 from target or the Harrows aura 25g if you like a slightly fatter barrel then red dragon Delta 2s are great. If straight barrels are for you then the member 2s by RED DRAGON are an awesome dart. More weight gives more control and better penetration at the board. So go with what makes sence and feels right if you have a solid throw it makes very little difference what darts you use.👍👍🎯🎯
david llewellyn I have a set of 21 gram hinotori darts I like the feel of, but they sometimes don't penetrate the board enough and fall out, do I throw harder? Or get heavier darts?
The darts you used to use are in the past and my brother had a simular experience he had a set in the 80s he swore made him good I got him a set from my old mate Eric and he improved. He found his darts in an old tin at our dad's house and he is poo with them. The grass isn't always greener buddy👍👍and this video proves it ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YG451qQ-bME.html
@@DynamiteDaveLlewellyn Also, he has a very pronounced rearward kick of his left foot immediately after releasing a dart. Lately, he seems to have reduced that eccentricity and maybe it doesn't affect him since it comes after his throw. Thank you.
As I commented on the last video the one variable I see, and one I struggle with constantly, is grip. Everything else can be like a clock but if I'm fighting with my grip my accuracy goes all to hell. The only way I get a somewhat consistent grip is by using Mighty Grip but even that is only half the time as it's not always effective. I've tried lots of different darts but it seems I have the same problem with pretty much everything I've tried. The Harrows Verve's I'm throwing now have been by far the best but still I struggle with slippage on a regular basis. Any advice you be greatly appreciated. Thanks Dave!
I'll try to give those a shot. Living basically in the middle of nowhere where the nearest dart shop is at least four hours away makes it a little tough. And since I try not to go to town (read big city) unless absolutely necessary it may be awhile until I get there. Thanks Dave.
Hi Dave, when I set to throw in this position with my arm up ready if I close my left eye my whole arm and hand blocks the board so I can't see so I guess I'm relying on my left eye there or will the dominant eye play a part when I pull my arm back. I don't pull back to my eye but to the side like you say but when I set to look at the board in this position and close the left eye the board is blocked by my arm and hand. Is this normal? Thanks again.
Hi Steve you should be looking direct at the board past the throwing arm with both eyes just like when your driving as your arm swings your brain will compensate for the changing view just like if your driving and you get an itchy left eye doesn't mean you will crash if you itch it you brain adjusts your perspective. cheers Dynamite Dave.
@@DynamiteDaveLlewellyn thanks for the reply Dave. Does that mean my arm maybe needs to move further round? I've enquired to you about a video so perhaps I can explain in there or send a picture via email. I can see but it wasn't until I was playing someone and they suggested my arm was blocking my dominant eye. Thanks again for the advice.
"Barmpot" lol. That's just your squeaky floorboards talking. Anyway thanks a lot for these video uploads. I'm gonna learn this game of darts. I'm a month into my latest darts phase, and i have a different grip for every day of the week.So thanks for stressing the importance of consistency.
Yes Defiantly alcohol is a relaxant and a stimulant acting on different parts of the brain in different ways Alcohol at low levels can assist you to be more positive and more calm under presure but in some people it workes the other way. At high levels its impedes your thought prosses and makes most players crap Except jockey Wilson of course lol. So my advice is stay away from it if you want to become the best and this is why the game is changing from a pub game into a multi million pound sport and as with motor racing golf tennis Etc Etc has become as it has now. In the old days the riders players would come out half pissed and get on the bike in the car on the fairway and win but as the money goes up the emphasises changes from just playing to wanting fame massive pay-outs and (Darts is entertainment just like football it started modest and look at it now from £300-£400 a month wages in the 60s to way north of £300.000 a week now as we all know money is the driver of all top line ports today. Cheers Dynamite Dave...
Hi buddy yes I do there is two ways you can do it. You can send me you videos I need five visits from each angle and I will email you back with my findings this is totally free. Or if you donate a tenner or more to the channel I will film you a personal training session it more in depth and it's a separate system with a much shorter wait. Cheers Dynamite Dave.
Hi buddy here is the link to donate paypal.me/dartscoaching And there is a few ways to send your videos best way is to email them to me if you can or upload them to you tube and send me the link. cheers Dynamite Dave
Hi Rob use the Russ Bray app it's got a really good pace to it get your darts from the board punch your number in it will call your score. Then throw and call it's own score then address. It workes a treat.
Mechanical throw is just another way of saying a well practiced throw. It really doesn’t matter if your on the television or not. Practicing is the only way to improve at any sport
Nice tips. But with the 180 at the end. Would of been believable if you didnt walk off camera towards the dart board then come back and show, but took the camera with you and stayed in shot all the time. :) The time was too short to reach the board, but the video was edited before posting.
A lot of videos are edited but there are many many videos on my channel with me throwing 180 where as you say you can see me walking and throwing without having a second of editing if you cheat your only cheating yourself no one else. Just click on my video does D Dave neet to blag a 180
Been playing 40yrs but my dart throw still keeps straying from left to right and dropping 4ins too low how can I fix the problem john the Outlaw Devaney.
Hi John buddy hope your well. Right first thing to do is film yourself from the front and side do a good five or six visits from both then watch it back and think am i stable eg 1 am i moving during the throw, 2 does my throw remain the same here is a video that may give you clues of what to look for. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XdCm7X6Qzsw.htmlsi=bOofDYdYT5WN7wGN
