Darts moved over to various computers back in 2006 with the Playstation, Xbox, Wii and DS all been apart of the games that ran from 2006-2010. The games features many career and story modes along with the chance to play at your favourite darts venue.

The darts game on 51 worldwide games on Switch is actually really good with motion controls- if they took the mechanics from that and added the presenattion of a pdc career mode it would make a great game indeed!

I think the Best Darts Video Game was and is "Darts Live!" for your mobile phone. A few years ago they had the rights of the PDC to use players pictures so that you can play against the Top 40 of the World (then Danny Noppert was the Number 40 of the PDC). Nowadays they lost the rights but you still can play against friends and online as well ad in special online events.

180 Darts Simulator for the Sinclair Spectrum computer that came out in 1986 was great! Maybe a bit before your time Edgar!?

Is that the one that had the disembodied hand floating around in front of the board and you had to wiggle it into position? If that's the same one I had you had to throw a nine darter against the final opponent to win!

It could be good as a form trainer - to help you replicate your throw over and over. It could monitor your throw over an actual match to see how you fluctuate.

I have the PdC game for the Xbox 360 and it’s borderline unplayable because it takes so long to play a match, you can’t skip the cutscenes after each throw and the commentary is really over dramatic and repetitive.

VR darts works well on the Meta Quest. It mimics throwing more accurately and is quite fun too. Would be fun to get real players on the VR version

As an avid VR user there’s a game called on target VR darts which is quite good. Definitely not easy though but then again I’m no good in real life either. 🤣 There’s also a pretty good one on iPhone called darts match live where you push up on the screen to release your dart. No power bar or hitting any buttons or anything all motion based. Would recommend both of those for VR or non VR users.

I quite enjoyed them on Xbox but I had a lot more time on my hands back then! To be fair to the game they 100% mimicked their throws. I remember being impressed how they had most of the throws very similar to the real life player

The Yakuza/Like a Dragon games have a darts mini game that I really enjoyed. You had to aim your hand with one stick that swayed a bit and then flick with the other. Not perfect by any means, but fun.

The best dart game ever was John lowe ultimate darts. It had a arcade games mode or a real mode . Which you played on your on board with 1to 8 players . 5 level's novice, pub,town,countie and 1987 pdc world top 16. The was done on averages from 1 to 9 sets to 1to 9 in legs. As you type it score and even yell out 180's and count how many darts you won or lost in. But there probably more but I am getting old as I could play on the senior tour

I had the first version for pc and you used the mouse to do the action. I didn’t play it for long though as I preferred to actually play darts for real. When you mentioned about maybe a game where you throw your own darts etc.. there was actually a game for pc called winmau world darts simulator. Where like todays apps you play on your own board. But in this game you played a tournament (think it was the old BDO world masters format) and you played against made up players with daft names.

100% agree dont see console darting games having a future, i recommend anyone at home wanting to practice under pressure and is already able to atleast play over 85-90 average and wanting to up there game, just watch an actual darts matches on youtube and you play on along with it as if your replacing one of the players in the match it simulates asif you playing against. best training of any and I've never heard anyone else mentioning this or doing it but I deffo recommend people givibg it a go.

I was in the game of thrones computer game, i was scanned for a stark army character, it only took around an hour and i was in a box been with hundreds of cameras taking pictures at different angles

The only way I could argue that this should exist is with a real dart board via a camera system like the Scolia. Anything to better gamify practicing would be a good motivator to get better at the real thing, like Matt suggests. There's still novelty to be had playing as the pros, like Taylor or MVG or even Littler now, but not that much novelty.

I play a darts game on an old computer (there's footage on my channel). It's quite easy to master, I can get consistent 9 darters with it. Darts isn't really a computer game friendly sport, you are better off just buying a dart board for the same price as the game costs these days.

The snooker games did well for a number of years and than they stopped and they tried bringing it back and it didn't work I mean we haven't had a official Boxing Video game since 2011. And dart's is going to be very difficult to make a fun entertaining video game

I think that darts mechanics doesn't compete for a game. I play snooker on PC and the difference is huge with all the possible targets, positioning of the cue ball, balls bouncing off another etc. Dart (pc-game) in that manner is pretty one sided especially x01, as a computer game you want to get "better" in carrier mode but how? No fun going for practice hours on the Xbox to be able to do a 9😂

I don't think a new darts computer game would do well today since you can just play the real game, it is affordable and more fun. What could be popular though considering the sport getting more popular worldwide is trading cards, I am always wondering if we see some release anytime soon.

You did need a wee bit of skill,no power bar but a diagonally moving 'hand'.Get to the final & you hand to beat 'Jammy Jim ! Who nearly always hit a 9 darter ! Bloody good for a 48k Spectrum comp when you think about it

The reason it didnt/still wouldn't work , is it's easier /funner to throw a dart at an actual dartboard Who's gunna pay £60 for a game when you can get a npq and set of darts for same price

For me I enjoyed playing at night when it was too late to play real darts because the neighbours would go mad at the thud thud thud. Also it was kinda cool to pretend to play the pros

I don't think you should compare the two like that. To sit down on the couch with a cold drink and chill after a hard day at work can be really nice. I don't want to stand up and throw all the time.
