I think it makes sense due to how quiet and chill his personality is that he would apply to edit vs be cast. But when people worked with him every day and saw it they realized he was funny af and would do really well on camera. Maybe im wrong and he always wanted to be cast, but i can totally see a world where he is saying the funniest shit on set and cast just pulls him in like "no they gotta see this"

I now have a deep theory that Spencer is actually god tier at playing darts, easily outclassing anyone in the Smosh cast. Whenever he plays for a video, he throws every shot he takes, and has deliberately lost every game on purpose so as to hide his true power level. He has been waiting all these years for the perfect setup for a joke, so that he can show his true prowess. Truly a master of comedic genius.

He actually references a ton of songs. He obviously references "Break Stuff" the most, but that's far from the only reference he makes. At 4:00, he references "Three Dollar Bill, Y'All". At 5:35, he references "Behind Blue Eyes" with "no one knows what it's like". At 7:24, he references "Nobody Loves Me" and its line "Nobody loves me, maybe I'll go eat worms." At 11:47, he references "Faith". At 12:18, he references "I'm Broke". At 12:30, he references "Nookie". At 13:05, he references "You're The One That I Want" from Grease featuring John Travolta, who plays the main character in Fred Durst's movie "The Fanatic". At 30:57, he references "Take a Look Around". I'll edit this as I rewatch the video while paying attention to everything he says, but it seems like people REALLY failed to catch a lot of his references.
