Unfortunately this conversation was not about evidence. Fortunately it was civil and serves to establish lines of communication upon which hopefully can blossom into a conversation about the evidence. It is pointless to even attempt to discuss the evidence if you can not establish lines of communication. For all those on both sides, myself included, who cringe at this conversation and feel their blood pressure raising I say take a deep breath and return to the conversation when you can without raging emotions as such emotions do not help either side. Respect how Wendy feels dismissed and science is demeaning. You have to establish communication with as little emotional charge as possible before you can even discuss evidence. This is what Dawkins is doing, learn from the master.

I was raised JW as well but officially left at 26 years old. Luckily I was never baptized. I suck up as much information as I can about evolution and the truth about my old religion. At this point I'm pretty much an anti theist and believe the world could be better off without religion. I don't mind individual people believing in a higher power, it's when it becomes a religion with doctrines and indoctrination and such I start having a problem with it 😊

He uses the term evolution often but redefines it without telling the reader. Some times he's talking about the capital E Evolution and then within the same sentence, he'll switch definitions to mean natural or artificial selection. No one denies natural or artificial selection. Even Darwin knew the difference because his first book was "The Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection..." Natural Selection is how Darwin proposed Evolution happened. It was the supposed means and not the thing itself. It would be similar to use the word earthquake synonymously with tectonic plates. The earthquake is "what" happened but the moving of tectonic plates is the proposed "how" it happened. Dawkins is very intelligent! He knows the difference between the event and the means of the event happening... just like he would know what he told Wendy about Piltdown Man is not true...The most well known fraud in "evolution" history... but He looks this woman in the face and says it was "never" used as evidence for evolution... Makes more sense after seeing him say that he doesn't follow the evidence in the discussion with Peter Bohossian... he just wants to believe, despite the evidence.

​@@AbdullahI-pi8bf you can track back the evolution of land vertebrates based on paleontological findings paired with comparative anatomy, embrology (EvoDevo) and comparative genetics. Based on this, we now have a pretty good understanding of how animals evolved through time. We even tracked the changes in position, structure and function of particular bones, say the gill arches or ear bones.
