Given the Harden situation and the growth of Maxey in his absence, I think we had a good season. Competitive Playoff series with one of the better East Teams. It came down to the wire (and poor ref calls in 1st 2 games). Maxey didn't get calls that he should've and Embiid did everything he could to come back from an MCL injury and then dealt with Bells Palsy. Morey and Nurse did their best with what they had to work with. No excuses moving forward now that Tobias overpaid contract is gone and they have the cap space to sign anyone willing to join the organization.

This is the reason Tobias got paid max after Butler left and no other superstar (LBJ, Kawhi, etc) wanted to come here. Same about to happen as only past their prime stars like PG/Butler are the only who would come here to get paid in their final stretch.
Joel’s health dictates everything. But now we are rid of Tobias, Harden, Ben Simmons, Doc and all the cancers/ineffective players we’ve had. Until Morey signs new ones 😂

The major problem I have with Morey is that there’s not a good way to determine what his “Good Player” looks like, BUT based on history so far it’s been offensive scorers that are pretty mid to trash at defense. There’s going to have to be a bit of a shift to better DEFENSE outside of Embid for this team to advance.
Don’t resign Tobias, that would be suicide, and don’t overpay for PG after his playoffs collapse and statement: “the older you get, the less it matters because you can just live with the results” - it’s smarter to sign Jimmy Butler (if available) because it wouldn’t take overpaying to get him (and there’s already chemistry between him, Maxey, and Embiid, who is also one of Embiid’s closest friends) - keep Oubre, Hield, Batum (if he doesn’t retire), and Ricky, and cut everyone else; get a backup center like Drummond (who should’ve never been traded away/was great for Embiid-less minutes), and a backup point guard (for Tyrese-less minutes) like Brogden (ideally), and fill in the bench correctly…THEN ALL OF YOUR BASES ARE COVERED (BACKUP PG/C, and a ‘DEDICATED’ CLOSER, WHO IS AN IMPROVEMENT & AN IMPROVING PLAYER/SCORER IN THE PLAYOFFS) don’t mess this up “star hunting” Morey, we just watched Phoenix FAIL at it❗️❗️❗️Make the ‘right’ moves this time! You already owe it to the fans and the ownership when you had a CHANCE at the trade deadline!
Why did Harris play 30 minutes in the last game? How did you not figure out he was hurting us, and not helping us. Coaching and GM just watched and kept playing him.

P.S Miles Bridges could be a risk. Police report wasnt pretty. On the court he nothing less then a Stud however. Unfortunately options are slim.. I dont think paying a high price for an aging wing is the move. Gotta think outside the box. If not for the oncourt issues Bridges would be a Max player. Get him for cheap, sign the right pieces around the core. Maybe theres a redemption arc in Miles Bridges story.
he did. if joel hadn't been hurt there wouldve been a run, no question in my mind. sadly, Daryl couldn't control that. (and if you wanna take issue with him not bringing in a back up center that could've replaced what Jo was doing... i don't know what to tell you.) but really - we saw the proof on the court prior to his injury - some of the best starting 5 ratings in the league, joel was on an mvp run, he put really good role players around the team, improved the team at the deadline. its ridiculous to look at the first round loss (especially THAT series which was actually a 2/3 matchup that shouldve been in the ECF) and say he didn't put us in a position to win. i dont have many issues with his moves this year - oubre, pat bev, kyle lowry, cam payne and nic batum were all brilliant. that's incredible work for a GM. he's acquitted himself more than adequately this year. still a ton of work to do, especially now that Tobias is on the way out.
I still can’t believe he traded Jayden Springer, the promising 20 year old with tons of upside, to the Celtics of all teams.. and just to be able to sign 38 year old Kyle Lowry, who gave them literally nothing in game 6… the Celtics are just a better organization..
I'm not sure this guy is savy enough to get the job done to win it all...only good enough to be a good team, and simply nothing more. His desire to get Harden was a complete waste of time. We need a Danny Ainge type to construct this team.
Why does anyone have any confidence that Morey can get it done. All the other young stars who are hot now and leading their teams in deep playoff runs, we could’ve had, but Morey turned down trades for them, including Tyrese Haliburton, SGA, OG,PASCAL, etc. Morey botched the Simmons trade. Traded the farm to get Harden, to only trade him away for peanuts. He’ll go after a big name, who is old, washed, past their prime, or injury prone, while all the young stars are taking the league by storm. We know exactly what Morey is gonna do. Smmfh
Joel and Maxey are all we have of any merit.. Joel needs to heal up and train to get his worn out legs in a reasonable shape…. The Olympics are a luxury we can not afford… keep Melton, Council 4, Terq, Martin Jr, Oubre, and let the rest go…. Daryl is making millions and is “treading water” …
Learn what the fuck continuity mean it means consistency that falls squarely on you and it is not mutually exclusive from one another to say we have to have better players than the other team is biggest non answer.
