This time on Films N That we are looking at the German submarine film Das Boot. Directed by Wolfgang Petersen, Das Boot follows a war correspondent taking pictures aboard a U-boat in 1942. While his initial intention is to photograph heros, that very quickly falls by the wayside as he descends into madness with the rest of the crew.
Das Boot brilliantly depicts the horrors of serving on a submarine in world war two, and how the claustrophobia and isolation turns to madness in the deep.
