During the Vietnam War, the US Army sprayed 72 million liters of Agent Orange defoliants on the territory of South Vietnam to destroy forests, including 44 million liters containing 2,3,7,8-Tetrachlorodibenzodioxin. 2,3,7,8-TCDD is a persistent substance, entering the human body with water and food, it causes various liver and blood diseases, massive congenital deformities of newborns and violations of the normal course of pregnancy. After the use of defoliants by the American military, several tens of thousands of people died after the war. In total, there are about 4.8 million victims of spraying defoliants in Vietnam, including three million directly affected. The US military also used gases; caused artificial cloud formation and acid rain, using chemical treatment of clouds and acidification of the atmosphere; sprayed chemicals that cause severe fires in the jungle. All areas of South Vietnam, many areas of Laos and Cambodia were exposed to chemical exposure. In addition to forests, fields, orchards and rubber plantations were cultivated. American troops mainly used 4 herbicide formulations: purple, orange, white and blue. Their main components were: 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid, 2,4,5-trichlorophenoxyacetic acid, picloram and cacodylic acid. The most actively used orange formulation (against forests) and blue (against rice and other crops). For better spraying of chemicals, kerosene or diesel fuel was added to them. Chemicals were also used against people.
