I think SMeyer wasn't intending to make Aro look "perfect" when she described as with that onion skin and filmy eyes. After, beauty equals goodness, right? All the main evil Meyerpires are either ugliesh (James was plain and average looking) or feral looking. Yes! Thanking you for pointing that one rule out. That was the thing that just boggled my mind in the last video. You know, I'm pretty sure that's why Chelsea's not in charge: because she's not a man.

It's true Aro cannot rule benevolently, and that Meyer's vampires are animals. However, if the Cullens took over and Carlisle ruled I am willing to bet (ten dollars) the vampires would abruptly stop being animals.

I cant believe that you didnt go on about the fact that Aro killed his own sister in order to keep Marcus in the coven. Man when i first heard about that i went off. As much as me and my sister disagree and fight i wouldnt kill her over some man for absolute power. And thats another thing how in the hell did Marcus or Caius for that matter never figure out that it was Aro that killed Didyme I dont understand that one. It was a villainous action, but it also showed inconsistency in his character. This guy would kill his own sister to keep a dude with a rather lame power around, but we later found out that a vampire with a useful ability was allowed to leave after finding his True Love. If Aro's supposed to be a ruthless and pragmatic villain, why not kill her as well?
(I know this is kind of weird, but I like playing these rants as background "music". I love your voice and the rants themselves. Which is why I'm doing another comment.) Not to defend Carlisle or anything, but maybe SMeyer just forgot (which yes is a STUPID oversight) to say that Carlisle tried to save the dying humans, but Aro didn't let him save them. But then SMeyer kind of shoots herself in the foot with the whole "he left on good terms" thing.
You know, that kinda just showed that Aro is a better lover than Carly (Carlisle) as he actually ASKED Sulpicia if she wanted to be a vampire. He ASKED!
Super-pedantic correction that I have to make as a Classics major: "Sulpicia" is pronounced "Sulpikia." There are no soft C's in Classical Latin. Awesome commentary, though, so I won't begrudge you a pronunciation error.
I love these videos. While I have no problem looking at Michael Sheen, you're right in thinking that the fact The Volturi, the "major" players in the series, didn't get a single illustration save for the Clock Tower reveals carelessness on the part of the author. Hell, even JK Rowling wrote those supplementary texts and while they were a small detail in overall part, it helped make the world she created more real and interesting. Most of all, it showed she cared about her creation.
The way Carlisle acts reminds of the bystander who watches a kid (dying human) by a bully (Aro) but does nothing. Meyer's whole "Oh he doesn't eat people so therefore he's a good guy, he's a saint!" falls flat on it's face when he doesn't do anything when presented a bleeding human. (And turning them in to a "vampire" doesn't count)
Aro is an onion. Layers. You know. On a more serious note, though, here's a question: why the hell does he have long hair? That's not period-appropriate.
It's the most common glue we use over here at the states. It's got a lot of different types, including woodwork Elmer's glue, but the common type that they use is just white glue in elementary school, and when you get it on your hands and it dries, it leaves a thin film that can be peeled off like peeling skin after a sunburn.
Instead of leaving the human to bleed to death, why didn't Carlise just turn them? If he started turning these people, surely Aro would have gotten sick of all these new and unwanted newborns and would have just stopped leaving bodies for Carlisle. He clearly has no problem with vamps he creates killing others, otherwise he would never have turned anyone, so that can't be the reason. Perhaps these people were ugly, as he only seems to turn people "too beautiful to die."

I find it funny how Meyer says humans can't destory them, but the volturi are 'protecting' vampires from the human technologies that COULD destory them. So while Meyer is saying one thing she shows another. Meyer, pick and choose between them you can't pick them both.
The best I can think of for the "(vampire)" is that Meyer wanted to emphasize the whole "your eyes are red if you're vampiric" bit. Why she didn't give his pre-vampiric eye color like she did with the Sparkletastics... eh, fuck it.
Your notion of Chelsey/Chareon as the puppetmaster controling all the Volturi is fantastic and far too clever for S.M. to comprehend, let alone use. "What can you bring to Evilcorp?" GENIUS - this is very Eddie Izzard worthy! I love your perspective on this rubbish.
