The media will also go out of its way to interview neighbors etc. to get quotes like "yeah, there was always something wrong with him" If the criminal or evil-doer is not white, then you get a vague description of a crime committed by "a man" or "a woman". The media then quotes their family members as saying "they aren't really like this, they've had a few rough years, they wouldn't actually harm anyone, this is a misunderstanding." Thus, everyone knows who did it anyways. The only thing we don't know is the shade.

Can blame our republican lawmakers for our weak vehicle code. At least Evers signed into law Assembly Bill 55 and Senate Bill 76, attempting to put these nightriders in jail longer. This guy, Robert Hill got 5 years in the DOC but 2 in prison. Seeing as courts view the totality of the circumstances and that no one fortunately got hurt, and that we have sentencing guidelines with an indeterminate system, 2 years makes sense. I think people, like you, forget how miserable prison is, and also don't really know what you are ever talking about.

the police department will take care of the insurance. Something similar happened to my mom about 2yrs ago where there was a chase and the guy running side swiped her car (the car was parked, she wasn't in it). MPD helped her with the insurance company and her car was repaired.

If you don't have insurance, which you should, you are screwed.
