I had a driver like that on the Hume on the way back from "Easter", he was in a race , was coming up behind me fast, so I moved lanes so he could get past expecting to slide back in the fast lane after he passed as there were two slow vehicles in the left lane.. Jackass didn't want to go fast anymore, boxed me in and wouldn't move for _way_ too long.
I'm normally a safe driver, no accidents etc., but a few years of dash cam videos has really given me a lot of reminders and tips - things to remember to be cautious about on the road.
You should always be alert and aware, otherwise your just as hopeless as a drunk driver. Its a damn shame that part of the licensing requirements arent mandatory hazard perception tests and ongoing regular re testing. 99% of the videos on dca from day dot could be prevented if both people paid attention. There is no such thing as right of way, and even if your lights green, theres no magical special barrier that prevents any other vehicle from crossing in front or into you.
It's actually kind of interesting seeing all of these other clips. A lot of those "almost incidents" are much more representative of day to day driving.
Yes, some clips are just everyday shit which any reasonable driver would anticipate and not be surprised by. I think it's fair to say we have all committed some faux pas in out driving lives.

4:25 what's most concerning is the driver is driving on their L plates. The person in the passenger seat is responsible for the driver. So they should have directed the driver correctly. They aren't teaching the L plater well (does explain a lot of drivers though, lol)
They're also wearing a face nappy, so perhaps the oxygen supply was restricted... The face mask may actually mean they're a government employee though - like a driving examiner. Which might explain why they say there and did absolutely nothing to assist the situation - it may have been their driving test.

When someone demonstrates their obvious lack of care, attention, or driving skills, the thing I NEVER do is then tailgate that person. I open up the gap straight away, so I have less chance of being involved in their NEXT poor decision.

I thought at the beginning I wouldn’t make it through over an hour of dash cam vids and when I tapped the screen a few minutes later I was 45 minutes in. My husband came in and I fumed at how angry people were on the roads and just in general, he said he didn’t know where it came from. Fastest hour and 18 I’ve spent in a while, it just flew by. It seems to me that a lot of people believe that once they put their indicator on, they don’t have to use their eyes to make sure it’s safe. “Jesus take the wheel and part the traffic for me”
The most migraine inducing part - when they can’t just bully their way across, or do and still go off at you “Couldn’t you see my indicator was on?!?!?!” Yeah mate, it just doesn’t make any f***inf difference if there’s already a vehicle there that YOU MUST GIVE WAY TO, not them give way to you just cos you have a blinker on!!!

There were some good ones in there though - just highlights the dross and the problem with an open policy for cops to accept videos from the public. The overwhelming stuff would be inconsequential offences.

7:24 - and this kids, is how you loose your license, or it will be when this muppet turns a rear facing headlight on when it's an unmarked car behind. If you've got rear lights for work or camping etc, they can not be wired up to enable them to operate when moving, and the switch has to be out of reach of the driver.
@@willsmith5076 It's usually done with a lightbar, sort of thing that lights up a camp site when you're out bush. Get caught with it operational on the road, and the cops will be a bit nasty about it, because of how dangerous it can be.

honestly it should be illegal to have them fitted while driving. Sure they can clip on once you reach your destination but having anything fitted that isnt headlights (on the front), indicators, a reversing light and brake lights should be deemed an illegal mod. That would stop these morons from doing what that guy did. Have the fines be massive and be an immediate confiscation of the vehicle as well
That very last clip. I doubt it's anything to do with any "sense of entitlement" at all. It's geriatrist. The old guy is obviously far too old to be driving anymore, his ability to comprehend that he is in fact stopped on the road and not parked in the parking bay on the side of the road reveals everything. A family member needs to intervene and take his license away. This isn't ageist, I'm getting on myself, it's the facts of the matter. Problem is most of us need to be told when it's time to stop driving.
2:30 I was as passenger in a bus about 30 years ago in a different country when an elderly woman did exactly that. She wasn't so lucky. We heard the thud and cracks/crunches and she was a goner. So stupid.
Definitely not confusing at all. I live in that area of Junction Village, Victoria and it’s really only people who cannot understand simple commonsense in this area. Just before it, it turns to one lane. Both these two lanes are split into two directional lanes. It’s common sense to stay to the left

You and I haven't, probably because we aren't mentally deficient but i don't exactly have the highest expectations for the intellectual capability of Cranbourne locals.

The one with the Ambo, I don’t know why the driver got upset. As they were approaching the lights you could see the ambulance with its lights on approaching the lights, and even though the driver had the green light, the ambo still had right of way with having their lights on. You should always give way to emergency vehicles when they have their lights and sirens on, if a cop catches you not stopping for emergency vehicles when they have their lights on you can get a fine. I think that driver wasn’t paying attention and was just upset coz they were in a hurry and didn’t wanna stop

White SUV in the wrong pulling out infront of the car ahead of DC owner, however they did enter the roundabout before the DC owner, therefore DC owner must give way. Roundabout Rule #1: Give way to all vehicles already on the roundabout.

The red car that swerved and hit the kerb instead of the car should have just hit the car … the damage that can be done when bumping it like that and it’s classed as your fault hit the car and they have to pay for the damage
