I don't see why they don't Some of the worst drivers on the road are in these videos and there is revenue to be made. Better yet put them before the courts where they can explain why they don't have to obey the road rules like the rest of us.
Maybe it's my phone but I can't see the indicator working on the trailer. Is it a possibility that the dashcam was at a vantage point to be able to see what the driver couldn't (i.e. the vehicle's indicator)?
@@Banana_Split_Cream_Buns if you watch their speed, they slow down then accelerates to block the trailer, whilst also nearly running someone else off the road. they could have just backed off slightly to let them in. most people would have been able to tell what was going to happen if actually paying attention or actually giving a shit that there's other drivers on the road
@@Banana_Split_Cream_Buns the trailer lights don't seem to be working, but 9 times out of 10 you can tell when someone's going to merge like that, even if they don't indicate
If you miss the exit then you can take the next exit and take a right to go under the highway and then take the nearest U turn you can take or find a block on the right and do three left's, follow the road to the entrance onto the highway turn left and then you can find the exit you missed. Only adds 5-10 minutes to your trip.
3:35 ride to survive. Whenever you're at an intersection or T junction, particularly one that's busy and you might not be seen, always have your hand and foot ready to brake. It sucks given you are in the right of way but as riders we must understand how easy it is for us to not be visable we CANNOT rely on drivers as much as they should be aware they share the road with us. Having yourself set to brake rather than breeze through in these situations is what will keep you from having an accident, we cannot rely on drivers.
@@meeibast3712 Pays to look into the gaps and even through car window's if possible to see I had a gut feeling the other car could not see past that lifted 4x4
Yep, if you can't see that situation happening and be ready for it you're not going to last long on a motorcycle. Doesn't matter if you have right of way, if you're the one on the ground afterwards.
3:05 Beautiful driving from that CX5 driver. Well aware to realise and deal with the situation. Some of these drivers trying to avoid the perp are just as oblivious
never seen a bigger hero in all my life than the guy who jumps out of the bus drivers window because the driver wont open the door so he can get off the bus into traffic and if the driver opened the door this hero would have sued him if he got hit by a car WHAT AN ABSOLUTE HERO SMASHES THE GLASS IN THE BUS DOOR BY KICKING IT
I would love to be able to legally ride an e-scooter to work.... But after all the recent videos of e-scooter riders doing completely brain dead stupid stuff, I'm not sure I'm quite ready for the lobotomy yet. I assume that's part of the requirements.
I couldn't believe how aggressive people were when I first started driving. I made afew mistakes and was always apologetic. People on holiday, stressed, new to the country, emergency situations......you just don't know what other drivers are going through. Be nice to each other.
Driving is just something that brings the worst out of even the nicest people. I'm not sure how long ago this happened to you, but I hope you've become immune and can reserve your own peace. It would help if people were patient and considerate.
be nice to everyone except for Ranger drivers, they can burn in hell where they belong... oh and little old ladies in little silver cars, they are basically the antichrist
That's why I stopped and decided to not get a license at all. Until all those dipshits out there start behaving themselves I'm not gonna be a part of it. The cost involved and how easy someone can just double it by being stupid completely out of your control is just not worth dealing with.
@Michael Wolf. Yep, Ford Ranger's have overtaken BMW's and Toyota Camry's as the worst drivers on the roads (special mention to old Falcons and Commodores). Cheers!
Also unsurprising, they were all tailgating each other, hence the pile up. I'm also betting they were all angry because in their minds they were the only ones with a legitimate reason to be using the right lane, and everyone else was "blocking" it.
7:08 so let me get something straight. It was easier for you to speed up while the car with the trailer had they're blinker on for a decent amount of time. Courtesy wouldve avoided that accident
Courtesy, and the law. In 90+ zones you have to allow a car to change lanes. He started indicating while beside the ute ahead, so cammer speed up just to be a nuisance. The best defense is a good offense don't apply to driving on a highway!
@@downunderfulla6001 Never give people towing a trailer any extra room or consideration, is that it? It's even at an exit FFS. Cammer sped up to block the Ram just to be a dickhead.
7:05 pretty sure the guy changing lanes actually had room and indicated. Dashy instead decides to be a dick and speeds up for no reason nearly causing the accident, and then submits it like he wasnt the one in the wrong.
No, it was too tight IMHO and the RAM should have waited. If you watch the cammers speed, he doesn't speed up until the RAM is actually moving into his lane. The cammer should have just hit the brakes rather than try to drive through, but that doesn't excuse the RAM driver.
Yeah, in that video we've got one terrible driver (with trailer) and one extremely terrible driver (with dashcam). Bonus points for the idiot who comes past on the left too.
That was ridiculous! Truck companies will also try to avaid any insurance costs. Had a friend who was crashed into. Contacted the company and they told him they don't have any truck with that number. Lucky he took photos before the truckie sped off.
he probably didn't notice he had hit the other car, the contact was so lite and in the blind spot. then the other guy gets out and starts yelling and pointing instead of walking around to the open drivers window and talking to him.
@@nathanc7394 you're joking right? He felt the hit. Not only that when truckie was trying to get away he couldn't because he was still attached to the car he crashed into
13:08 is my fave! i can picture the car on the right from behind, driving into what is clearly going to be a crash with a turning truck, and i'm amazed that they then think a right turn into the left lane is going to work out even better XD
Didn't you see the new law? Changes to colour meaning: Orange is now green, and just-turned-red is now orange, and red is green. And green is "all intersection rules suspended just gun it you are always in the right go go go oh FFS what are you DOOOIIAANG?!"
..and if youre a car/ more than 2 wheel driver you should always assume there might be a bike/motorbike somewhere..That of course doesnt apply to e scooters as they tend to be somewhere they ought be.
@@vish119 The ones with 2 wheels on the front and one on the back always make me wonder why they didn't save up a bit longer and buy the whole car at once.
If I'm not mistaken that's the accident that slowed us all down on the M1 a few sundays ago... Looks like the cammer was in the Audi SUV. Has this accident made you think about your driving? Because from what I saw of it prior to this, you earned your place in that sandwich.
@7:05 clearly the Camera Driver is an Fool the indicator is on there is clearance so let them in ... But no I'll just pretend they're wrong and make it potentially worse by entering the other lane; IOT deny them access to your lane, and to top it off you nearly cleaned up an innocent driver because you are an Gobsmacking Fool!
@@TheMelbourneHeart You can bet (and win) if they have total disregard for others, they certainly have a total disregard for their own safety. Sadly, as you'd said, it may take them seeing someone in front of them pancaked before they even get the hint. Don't feel too sorry if you ever flatten one. It will be self inflicted.
The clip at 18:13 is one of the very few examples of an "accident". All the rest are just the result of carelessness, apathy or stupidity. So glad I live in Qld. where we have perfect drivers (cough, cough).
@@Banana_Split_Cream_Buns In the eyes of most, but not according to insurance companies, police investigators and my line of work (paramedic). In fact, we call them a "RTC-Road Traffic Crash" because we're not allowed to imply it was an "accident" with nobody at fault. But yes, most people consider them "accidents" if it wasn't deliberate.
@@Banana_Split_Cream_Buns Exactly the opposite, in the normal wording for Emergency Services. Road collisions are NOT "accidents", they are "Road Traffic Crashes". An accident is something that is not preventable. The majority of road collisions are due to driver "error" - i.e. BAD DECISIONS. There are almost NO "road accidents". I've been to plenty of crashes over the last 12 years, not a single one was an "accident".
@@77gravity That's a fact! In a 2 car collision, only one party could (possibly) be involved in an "accident". Being in the right/wrong place at the right/wrong time.
The one that needs to give way is the ram driver. I see so many people in another lane, mostly because one lane is faster then lose it when they can’t change across. Wherever there’s a safe distance between two travelers, there’s always going to be the self entitled that will try to fill it
@@Robert-cu9bm I’m a courteous driver. Yeah the dc driver could’ve backed off a little but they weren’t obligated to. The ram driver if they had common sense would’ve allowed themselves plenty of time to make sure they were in the right lane they needed. There’s plenty of ‘if only’, ‘what if’ or ‘should have’.
@@johnt.848 I am more of a defensive driver, Im not saying the RAM is right, I just want to make it to my destination alive regardless of who follow the rules. Given that he indicated, seems like he is not speeding, tugging that trailer his visibility is limited and his confidence is probably not 100%, I would give way.
Perhaps she needs one of those bumper stickers from Super Cheap Auto that says "Caution: this vehicle is driven by a high-maintenance drama queen with issues"
4:48 seems like some karma there, I wonder if the cammer will show that video to police or insurance? Cammer made illegal move (drove straight ahead instead of turning as marked).
I put train air horns on my truck and when some idiot screws up my driving I just love hammering down on that horn. Usually scares them half crazy. Love it.
@@AnotherDoug I haven’t been able to find definitive restrictions on this in Texas yet. City cops here apparently don’t care? as I’ve been near them when honking at someone. And they really aren’t train horns but the largest and highest decibel ones for like semi and other heavy equipment. Trust me it’s fricking loud as they vibrate a 2500 hd diesel truck.
There's a reason I get anxious every time I drive into a public car park. Slow-motion train wrecks! 0:59 Post there, ma'am! 4:19 Doesn't look like they even apologised to the woman. 5:47 One way, lady! 15:40 Back it all the way up! 16:26 I just want to know if he drove off or not.
1:58 driver wouldn't open the door in traffic, so the boof-head climbs across the driver to get out the driver window, then commits criminal damage to top it off; I hope the cammer provided the vision to NSW plod..
To be fair, if you look at the trailers wheels, he physically can' t stay in his lane there, or his trailer would go off. I doubt the driver expected to need an escort, but yeah an escort could safe lives.
So just because a road is fucked and narrow, every truck needs an escort?! Please, this is the reason why people die on back roads, they take no responsibility for themselves, slow down on blind corners or use them as a race track. This is simply darwinism weeding out the retarded. Besides, many people don't pay attention to the escorts unless they almost run people off the road - And you sound like someone that would complain about that too.
@@pants15 the truck could’ve honked its horn before coming around the corner. Shit road design or not, he has the potential to kill someone with what he did. Like I said, if I was the truckie I wouldn’t have organised an escort for a normal load like that.
@Reintje_in_AUS depending on the state that often isn't an option. In QLD using a OS pilot and being undersized means the scalies can fine you. That and the increased cost of shipping would end up passed onto customers making everything more and more expensive. But I agree safety is important
Thanks for the feedback. I kinda think the cammer should have used common sense and seen the difficulty the semi had helped him out and backed back more. Of course we don’t know what is behind him, so perhaps he couldn’t. I bet driving those with ignorant public must be bloody hard. In my 30 plus years driving here on the east coast of QLD and NSW mainly in regional areas, I have to say almost all truck drivers are professionals and courteous to other road users. I’m happy for them to overtake me because there is no way I am speeding for anyone. Money is too tight to give it to the State so they can waste it. Anyway, I think I’m about to start a rant, LOL!! Excellent point about using the horn when going around blind bends like that one. I’ve been around these with just one lane!! Now THAT is scary!
I was watching Jurassic World: Dominion on the weekend and there is a scene where an escooter rider gets eaten by a dinosaur. This video reminded me why I laughed so much when i saw it 😂😂😂
7:03 Cam car sent that footage to the police, cam car got a ticket because he sped up instead of braking. Long thread on the OzBargain forum about it where everyone gives it to cam car. Thread title is "Unfairly Charged with Careless Driving - Thoughts?" If you google that title it's the first hit.
They are not metal beams. they are plastic corner protectors. you put them on either side of the pallet you are strapping down, and they protect your ratchet strap webbing from being cut by sharp edges. Not normally used on carboard boxes though, usually you would use them on something that has a sharp edge that you have to put your tie down strap over.
it's the plastic bits that protect the edge of the load from strap damage. the 1st falling off was worrying, the 2nd meant the load is likely unsecured. yet more reason for the DC to back away form the situation.
Driver at 7:15 being a real moron. Could just let the guy with the trailer change lanes in the space present but no, let's choose to accelerate to cause an incident for dashcam
Or the ute could have waited and changed lane when safe to do so as per the road rules?why did the ute continue to change lane when it was clear the dc driver wasn't giving way?
I have no words. I am on the road at least 8 hours a day, following so called drivers like this. 20km under the limit on a highway/motorway etc. It is no wonder people get so impatient, when you see the lack of having a fkn idea
My vehicle has the aerodynamics of a brick, so I sit at no more than 100 most of the time. The sad thing is I often overtake people on the 110 kph motorway, having to go into the far right lane to do so, before going back to the left lane.
Last night, 2 men in an Audi were speeding from the cops at Centenary Drive, Homebush NSW. As they tried to enter the M4 they left the road, rolled, and the car burst into flames. People tried to rescue them but the footage showed the flames were still extremely intense even when all the fire and rescue units had arrived, so they perished in the flames. What a horrible way to go. Please be careful on the roads.
@The Aussie Family I don't know if that's karma. We don't even send our worst criminals to be executed in such a way. I feel especially sorry for the passenger. I wonder if there was a moment he felt "boy, I wished I had chosen better friends".
Should at least give us subtitles! That truck should have given them more room to back up. They don't need someone trying to ride them while they reverse down a mountain.
I can never understand while when there’s a close shave or near hit like the roundabout one at the start, the car that had right of way wasn’t hit, so what’s the point of it coming to a stop. The car at fault has made a mistake, for what ever reason, and nearly collided with car in the roundabout, that car driver knows they made a mistake and will have certainly learnt a lesson, luckily one in which no one was injured and there was no property of vehicular damage. But again, why did the other car stop, nothing will be achieved by stopping, move on and don’t complicate matters by yelling out or getting out and having a confrontation.
18:10 Is this on Forrest Highway and that is a tuart tree self pruning? I used to do the run Perth Bunbury a lot. This scenario was always in the back of my mind when I drove at night along that highway.
Here's a little safety tip for all you would be Freeway users. If you miss your fucking exit... DON'T STOP AND CREEP ACROSS MULTIPLE LANES! Be careful, use the next exit and go back to your intended exit. Stopping whilst other cars are travel at 100kph is idiotic and a sure fire way to cause accidents and possibly injury or death. Saving a few minutes might seem sensible but it definitely is NOT!!
?? they were ~3.5s behind the ute (decent buffer), they were in the right wheel track (good buffer). What exactly should the rider have done differently?
That looked as though it was filmed in NZ, the truckie would have been thanking the guy for helping him out of a tough situation. We don't much say where we pick up loads from, if the pick up is on a farm in the back hills of NZ then you do what you got to do
Y'know, the last couple of uploads from this channel has proven to me, without a doubt, that the only reason most e-scooter riders are still alive is because of the quick reflexes of the car drivers. Furthermore, considering just how bad a lot of the drivers are in these clips, it's only a matter of time before we get a special compilation of e-scooter riders (because they sure aren't licenced drivers) being smeared across various car bonnets!
14:35 "Yeah the front fell off." "Why did you crash." "The front fell off." "So, you scrapped the wall because." "The front fell off. They don't make um like they used to."
13:15 I feel for that driver…people trying to undertake a turning truck and jumping across in front of them because they’ve made presumptions about which lane to enter etc…there’s at least three intersections I have to go through quite regularly notorious for this type of crash, fortunately all I’ve had at them are a few near misses…what’s sad is the car driver either gets abusive as if it’s my fault, or the laugh and drive off as if they think it’s a game/funny
I've had one run up into the side of my double while taking a right turn in dual lanes and he rang the cops arguing that I was at fault. They interviewed me and decided he was completely at fault and had to pay for his own damages, damage to my truck and a nice little fine.
@@zuus85 can only imagine the gears turning in their mind as they try to find a way to get out of it… What’s truly depressing is the vast majority of the time, even when such people are told outrightly “no, YOU were the one in the wrong”…it just goes in one ear, gets bored, and dies
I've just got my P's and feel these videos have given me a fair warning of how crazy, dumb and entitled drivers can be on the road... although I'm sure it's much worse than I expect. 😂
Get a good dashcam with high frames per second setting, one front, one rear. Practice downloading so it works when you need it to. It’s to protect you. It’s quite common for the “other party” in the accident to lie.
@Martin Lang yeah, I want to get one for sure. Do you have any recommendations for which one to get. There are so many on the market that I dont know which one to get...
That’s great, more P platers/learner drivers should watch these videos and dissect each incident with an experienced driver (preferable) and discuss what can possibly done to avoid this situation. In general: impatience, lack of respect for other drivers, in other words mental attitudes are behind a lot of what is seen. Yes these are stressful times, but taking it out on the road is not the answer. The answer is within.
@@jarrodeastwood sorry, I’m not an expert here, but I found later vision of some night footage useless. I wish I had something better. When there was light the frame rate was way too slow to be any use. Very frustrating as I was harassed at doing the bloody speed limit…the dashcam confirmed my speed being between 79-80 in an 80 zone. Some of these “clowns” I call them do not understand that by riding my ass, I then have to divert my attention (even though I use cruise control everywhere to avoid copping a fine), also I then need to adjust my braking distance to allow for the clown behind me that will more than likely hit you if I need to brake suddenly. By my attention being diverted from the road in front I then need to be extra cautious. Of course this is all automatic and you don’t even know your attention is diverted at the time. IMO, it’s just as bad as (text driving/low range drink driving/hand held mobile driving). There is so much more to being a good driver, than one that just gets behind the wheel.
