This is where most of my close calls come from. Granted I'm not the best driver but going to the next exit / turn is a damn sight easier than potentially getting seriously injured or killed with a a lane change like some dumb cunts do to 'make an exit'.

Absolutely. dashcammer was going fast into a changed lane of stopped traffic which rings alarm bells in any good drivers head to watch for lane changers. Calling him an idiot was icing on top of how retarded the dashcammer was, and probably should take a defensive driving course.

Considering how the guy was driving and the amount of other traffic going past he likely wont catch up with him, and if he does, whats he going to do, the same, he will come out worse if he hasnt called the cops about it. Likely more to the story anyway.

Right of way does not exist in Australia's road rules

@@AnotherDoug every time someone uses the phrase, someone else like you has to come in and be pedantic. If someone enters a roundabout before you, you have to give way to them. Therefore, they have the right of way. They also have an obligation to avoid an accident where possible though.

@@jde12 if you have an obligation to give way to avoid an accident with someone who fails to give way, then you do not have any right of way. It's people like you who consistently use that phrase that contributes to the attitude on the roads. "I had the right of way" is used now to avoid their obligations to road safety

I don't drive, don't have a license and even I'm starting to see the incidents happen before they happen now.. and 80% of the time ( this number may be wrong as I don't know the road rules fully and don't have a license ) I think its the dash cammers fault or they over react ..ever notice how the horns seem to be going on blast for like 10 seconds these days? rarely is there no horn or just a quick beep of the horn to let someone know they made a mistake or let them know your there. just hold that sucker down for a good 10 - 20 seconds...

Plenty of those out there, just doesn't make good viewing.

getting a license needs an overhaul, too many people think a license is a protected right. Then they feel that having such a right places them squarely above anyone else and they turn the road into a modern day wild west. Time for brutal penalties for p plater offenses, like total license cancellations and strict requirements should they want to try again, like filling logbook hours via driving instructor lessons only

@@kineticdeath why only p platers?? this should apply to all drivers.. especially those fully licensed, even better yet if they have had there license for a decade or two and the rules have been changed since they got there license... but then again, everyone makes mistakes, so maybe it should be a 3 strikes and your out system. 3 serious faults / mistakes and you have to retake your test, failing your test at this point results in a 2 years suspension after which you may re-take your test.

It is legal to overtake on the left on multi-lane roads. Truck driver was an idiot for changing back to the right hand lane to scare the other driver..

@@ataradvantage5583 Except if a cop had seen this, the car driver would have probably got a warning while the truck driver would have gotten a drive in a manner dangerous and possibly lose his/her licence for such a stupid manoeuvre

@@AnotherDoug there's never a cop around when one is needed. I hope the car driver isn't too shaken but has also learned 2 valuable lessons 1) stay left unless overtaking; 2) you'll come off second best if you decide to get in the way of a truck.

That's what i thought!! FFS people, any accident happended on the motorway GTFO to the left or off the highway to exchange details. Staying on the highway especially on the right lane is a recipe for disaster.

Lack of common sense, situational awareness or any sense of danger. These individuals are called 'victims'. I watched a car crash vid(Russian) where 2 cars had an accident on a highway, then both drivers stopped in the middle of said highway, got out to check vehicle damage/s and had a chat while passing vehicles are flying past them at 100km/h+.

@@PaulFilmer Then they are doing their "final check" way too early. You slow as you get to the give way line and check for oncoming traffic. You do not decide 50 metres away that its OK to keep going.

They are heaps of fun - you just have to drive around the comedy handling.

This is the intersection of Cleveland and Regent St in Chppendale (inner west) Sydney. This video did make the lanes seem ambiguous, but they're not. The issue here seems to have been that several cars ahead were all moving rightwards one lane (two on purpose with indicators on, one possibly accidentally or just on purpose with no indicator). The cars in front and on the left may have been avoiding traffic or some kind of obstruction down the hill. That rightwards drift seems to have influenced the cammer as well as the car to the cammer's left, in a "follow the pack" sort of situation. The cammer noticed the markings and corrected but the car on their left did not, either because they were still unaware of their mistake and just following the pack, or because they also noticed the obstruction and just merged without looking. A weird herd mentality situation I'd say.

There's an intersection at Chermside that's like that, very ambiguous, they put line markings and cats eyes in to make it less so.

He was not in the right, he was wrong. Watch the car directly in front of him. And actually look at the markings. The dash cam driver moved mid intersection to the left like a knob.
