I saw these Finger Food Factory Tater Rounds in the Dollar Tree the other day and I thought I would give them a try. Let's cook them in a Dash Mini Griddle. Dash Mini Griddle on Amazon: amzn.to/2YHhM05 500w Portable Power Stations - amzn.to/2MIbwCB
DASH MINI GRIDDLE on Amazon: amzn.to/2YHhM05
500w PORTABLE POWER STATIONS - amzn.to/2MIbwCB
RENOGY 100w SOLAR PANEL - amzn.to/3rxEUdv
These small appliances only use 350 watts and are great for cooking in small spaces. They are great for RV cooking, van cooking, car cooking, dorm cooking, hotel room cooking, office cooking, etc. They are small, portable, and light weight so they are easy to travel with. They are also excellent prepping gear. Since they only use 350 watts and cook very fast, they can be easily run off of a general or solar power station.

I love this little thing. I never looked at it in the stores. I always thought it looked ridiculous, but I was cooking for more people as soon as everyone has passed away, over the Last 5 years, and it’s just me and my little dog Charlie and your videos taught me that this thing is quite handy and it uses almost no electricity, so that’s amazing. Thank you again.

I tried this with my Dash Mini Waffle Maker and the McCain Quick Cook Tots and they turned out really good. 💕

I hadn’t seen these but then I went day before the big game so store was pretty wiped out. I’ll have to try. The egg rolls were great.

From my experience, being a tater tot fan, these are really best for an actual oven, because the middle just does not cook otherwise. They take a solid 30 min in most ovens and I like mine a bit more "well done". I'd recommend at least 20 min in the griddle minimum. Also, these might work better if you use the waffle iron due to there being more cooking surfaces ...mash down a few in there and make a tater tot/hash brown. 👍

I think you should try the dehydrated boxed ones frpm Sam's Club or Costco. Good idea though.

Frozen doesn’t crisp .. the water steams them IMO

They are great in the air fryer but you need to cook them for 15 minutes or a little longer. I make a curry powder, mayo and rice vinegar dipping sauce and eat them on a bed of cabbage.

I found your channel looking for appliances to cook in my my car that aren't gas or butane. I've watched several of your videos and have subscribed! Because of this video I tried these same exact tater rounds in my vintage sandwich maker (in my mother's house) and they came out very nice (but hot, these things have chili flakes in them!). But I have a question, could you try and use the dash griddle as a 'burner' - to say - boil pasta (instead of the rice cooker)? I'm seriously considering one (trying to decide if a converter is worth it - right now I'm bidding on a 160 watt vintage car port-a-fry) but it would have to be THE cooker in my car, along with my vintage 165 watt travl-perk percolator. Also, would a regular silicone 'egg ring' fit it and help with the grease that meat produces you think? In addition, in the egg bite maker, I was wondering if you had a single layer of something you wanted to melt cheese on , if it would without sticking, like an oven broiler element? And lastly would you consider trying some of the items specifically for cooking in a car with NO inverter on the channel? (such as a Roadpro or Empire home 'n away item)? I'm having a terrible time finding any videos about them (only ONE on the port-a-fry!). Thanks a lot, Blake

Hi. Dash Mini appliances are a great option for cooking in a car without gas or butane. I've tried to use the dash griddle as a burner and it didn't really work well to boil water. It took forever and never really got up to a full rolling boil. I was using a small narrow camping pot on it. When I found their mini rice cooker, that became my solution for boiling water and that is the appliance that I was traveling with. It works well in a car and also worked great in hotel rooms for making breakfast or boiling water for coffee or tea. I'm not sure if a silicone egg ring would fit in it. It might. The Dash Egg Bite Maker has a slightly larger surface area to cook on and the sides are higher so they're better to keep in grease. The Egg Bite Maker should be able to melt cheese on a single slice of bread without it sticking to the top. It doesn't get as hot as a broiler so it probably wouldn't brown, but it would definitely melt. I don't know anything about Roadpros or Empire Home N Away items. If you could send me links to them, I will check them out. Thanks for watching and subscribing!

@@CounterCooking Thanks for answering me. Here's a decent list of road-pro items (they now have a non-stick coating and glass lids): www.roadtrucker.com/12-volt-cooking/12-volt-cooking.htm I'm more interested in the vintage home 'n away items because they have both a car adapter AND a plug to use in your home/hotel room. Roadpro just has the 12 volt connection (though this older pretty teal on ebay is tempting: www.ebay.com/itm/Roadpro-12-volt-Portable-Frying-Pan/274712687796?hash=item3ff626f4b4:g:NGUAAOSwappgRquo). I'm currently bidding on an unopened home 'n away port-a-fry ( www.ebay.com/itm/Empire-Home-N-Away-12volt-Fry-Pan-New-Sealed-Box/203303385325?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2055359.m1431.l2649) , there isn't a website to get them new that I could find. I'm not sure I can link you to one of my watch lists, so this is an example of the older pot 'n pop (a newer version of this is also only for the car/ has a 12 volt plug): www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Empire-Travl-Mate-Travel-Sauce-Pan-Popper-12V-or-120V-w-box/143828405332 I'm toying with just buying an immersion heater as well, but I really want a 'real' cooker. I've read my car adapter tops out at 180 watts, so the 200 watt rice cooker (though looking quite versatile) has me worried I'll ruin something. Thanks again, Blake

Just curious, does the griddle's top have a heating element? or just the bottom part?

Those might work. I don’t know how crispy they would be but they would certainly cook.

You would have gotten much better results if you had let it defrost first.

15 minutes for 5 tater tots?! Not an efficient use of time! Put them in the toaster oven.
@CounterCooking
@CounterCooking 2 года назад
You missed the entire point of the video. It is not about how fast you can cook tater tots, but how and how well they cook in a Dash Mini Griddle. Someone might not have a toaster oven. They might only have this appliance to cook with.
