First time I saw Dashboard live was in 2003 at UMass Lowell, on tour with Brand New. My boyfriend at the time and I went super early because they were our favorite band back then. A small group of us were there hours before the show began, to pass the time a kid there had a guitar and was playing all their songs & we were all singing along. Chris, John and Scott ended up coming out and sitting in the circle with us, listening to the kid play and us sing their music to them. It was truly an unforgettable experience and one that I’ll carry with me my whole life. Although I’m old as shit now, Chris still hits my soul with his music. Got me through the toughest times of my life. Thanks for reading my blurb\story of ya did. Much love ❤
Obrigado!
Holy shit he needs to change keys. He cannot hit those high notes anymore. Also get better Chris. Glad you made it out of that accident alive. Takes me back to being 16 all over again.
Actually he was going sharp on the high notes. I think he was reaching. All of the notes on the record version of Hands Down he hit dead on. His voice sounds killer IMHO \m/
@@matthewhaj3110 he was not dead on in hands down, not bad but he def has some vocal chord damage where his voice gives out or goes raspy compared to when he was younger and it was smoother.
To me his voice is re_ enerigized.... It reminded him how easily ur forgotten and if you disappear you have to start from scratch... "As for me" I just went through a brake up and imedeatly went to dbc.... So it's timeless in my era But I get why everyone is upset that it has so little views.... Sorry for mis_spells... I'm drunk cuz I'm going through a break up
I count Chris as one the very best songwriters that music has to offer these days. In my opinion only Ingrid Michaelson can emotions into words and melodies as well as Chris.
I LOVE him SO MUCH. I want to marry him just so he can sing to me. His voice is a HUGE comfort to me. I just ADORE him. His wife is VERY LUCKY. I know he doesn’t bat for my team, BUT he’s one of those guys that I wish did, and I STILL love him regardless.
I love Chris!! But Im gonna say it! He lost his voice like Chris Conley from Saves the Day. They're both still very good, the passion is there and they make it work but you can tell they cant produce like they use to. Sucks to say, and I hate to be that guy. I still love these performances! 🙌
And this is not the acurate video to say it. Just watch a more recent gig and he sings awful. So sorry he didn't learn the technique, his songs are so powerful
I think 20+ years has made his voice a bit lower, hence the extra work he has to put in to hit the highest notes and the slight cracking. Still amazing though!
Elixirs and Taylor's go hand and hand. Martin's shouldn't be bright, but raspy and full, kind of like his jumbo back in the days transformed into strings.
Pretty sure he uses the "DADGAD" open tuning, but down a half step like @TheBionicleRocks pointed out for the first 2 songs. Pretty sure he changed the tuning back to standard tuning though for Hands Down. When he performs he has like 3 or 4 different guitars with different tuning.
He’s trying to hard to hard to sing. He needs to let it flow. His live performances are always good because they come from the heart... this is too uniformed

Christian Chris I have to disagree. Usually you can’t even hear him at shows now because of the drunk now early 30-somethings singing along. Shit, back in 2002 I couldn’t hear him either.
