GB, Heater Core replacement has put many Mechanic's that are recovered Alcoholic's back on the Whiskey. Car's and Pickup's with A/C are the main culprit's. It takes a Man with "TRUE GRIT" to tackle a job like this. I'm bettin' on You GB. Just be sure to put heater hose on the same color as the original and nobody will ever know You replaced the Heater Core.

Thanks for the vote of confidence MT. I have couple of advantages, with the lock down I have plenty of time and I have other transportation. No pressure. Just an old, faithful truck and my tools. That truck has been good to me.

ok so there is a Relay for the blower motor where is it located its the one with 5 pins in it

I searched RU-vid trying to find video on back of power outlets access, I finally had to figure it out myself. After you removed all the screws on that bottom center and right side panel, it has to be carefully pulled off, with care just pull it off gently and work it out.

THANK YOU!! this is exactly what I’ve been trying to figure out for the past 3 days! I just didn’t want to attempt it before I knew for sure and I was absolutely dreading taking the upper dash out bc I still have to drive my truck! So thanks a ton you have no idea

Rip all the window side plastic covers and Glove box! The whole top of the Dashboard and towards the back window ! Just to Replace the Cigarette lighter Socket Only ! With 1 wire coming from the end of the Cigarette lighter Socket ! Looks like a bought a 5 hour job just to Replace a Cigarette lighter Socket. On Truck just like this one in the video Here! It doesn't have a Backup Camera on it ! 2007 Chevy classic LT Cloth Seats flip up armrest. Silverado 1500 4x4 V8 Engine.

I think this is not what I was looking for. It appears you want to remove the entire HVAC box. All I want to do is see how involved the basic heater core replacement is......

That is the point of this series of videos. They don't build them like they used to. The heater core is inside the hvac box and requires to pull the whole dash.

@@FakeLegGreg Correct. But from what I have heard, the heater core can be pulled from the top, without removing the entire box. Is this not correct? Or maybe just loosen up the box to allow for 'wiggle room'? It just seems unreasonable to remove that entire box just for the heater core. I do have a '99 Suburban.

@@geraldg3130 Agreed, it is very unreasonable. One guy said he cut a hole in his firewall and pulled the core. Then patched up .the firewall. This was on his farm truck. Post up if you figure out how to flat rate this job. BTW its a $1500 job from a shop.

@@FakeLegGreg I'm surprised a shop would touch this. A guy is just opening up a HUGE can of worms where something could easily go wrong, especially with the re-assembly. I am seriously considering just installing a 'drip tube' through my floor board or trying a high-dollar radiator sealer......

They called screws NOT fastners and I never could understand why people use gloves be a man and get your hands dirty I don't use gloves I don't see the point of them

Allow a one legged old MAN to explain this to your mind. ALL screws are fasteners but all fasteners are not screws. Snaps are also fasteners Google is your friend: A fastener (US English) or fastening (UK English) is a hardware device that mechanically joins or affixes two or more objects together. In general, fasteners are used to create non-permanent joints; that is, joints that can be removed or dismantled without damaging the joining components. I wouldn't worry yourself about the gloves until you get some more experience. You are welcome to make your own videos to display your vast talent and knowledge.

there called screws not fastners, out of 30 years they have never been called fastners

Not sure what has got you so stirred up. I have about 45 years at this in machining, welding, fabrication, and wood working. Screws are temporary fasteners and always have been, so are nuts and bolts. Don't limit yourself to narrow definitions and you will get more done. Thanks for watching.
