it got so bad in the 90's, with hgvs running side by side, with nothing in front of them in the right hand lane, that Police started to prosecute them as they were actually making conjestion worse
I had a van driver deliberately drive into me from the left because I was using the all the road space down to a temporary lane closure. I was traveling slowly and actually passed him when he decided to try and ram me off the road! I was driving an HGV so god knows what he thought his van would do against something much bigger than his vehicle
