Young Link destroys Falco. Having a reflector does not equal auto-win against projectile heavy characters. Young Link is relatively small, fast, has better frame data, and huge disjoints, every thing Falco struggles against. Falco can't rush down Young Link, can't juggle him because Dair>Everything Falco wants to do, Falco's approach options aren't very good in general, his reflector can't reliably thwart Young Link's entire arsenal, timing mix-ups, and various angles, and doesn't have an out of shield option that can punish Yink and adversely Yink's can just pull his nair out of jail free card. Falco is too slow, his reflector requires more precise timing and only stops things head on, and his hitboxes are too honest to contest Yink's. The only thing Falco has in this match-up is being solid at snuffing out Yink's recovery. But the same is true in reverse along with the fact Yink just beats the shitake mushrooms out of him on stage, too.

Falco does a considerable bit better against Tink and Link, but even they aren't definitive Falco favor matchups. Even if Falco hypothetically achieved ultra instinct and was perfecting countering every projectile, their kits without projectiles out neutrals and out punishes his.

@@quintonfloyd420 I agree with your sentiment, but you dont need to have a ultra instinct to deflect everything. You will get hit by some projectiles, but the purpose of the deflector for falco is to allow to get close the an opponent, from then on, is knowing what moves have priority over theirs and the frame data. Falco could give fatality what he needs, which is some breathing room to get close without taking as much damage as he does dodging projectiles, that's all im saying. .

Well he had to get Fatality up to 170% each time before being able to kill him. The scary part is that tacking on that much damage was practically free.

He is definitely good but he relies on confirms a lot and that gets predictable.

@@DeRez19 his confirms also have pointlessly specific percent ranges as you can see tons of instances in this match where jdizzle hits a confirm and it doesn't quite kill with good DI, he ends up killing with the most random options. yink also has a fairly bad recovery. I think they could make the character better and more interesting if they made nair stop killing but made his kill confirms actually have reasonable percent ranges. He has plenty of other weaknesses too, he only has 1 good tilt (down tilt) and 1 good smash (up smash)and his grab is very bad. He can only edge guard characters with pretty poor recoveries

​@@ohcomeon1111 obviously they work sometimes but there are tons of instances where he's going for some confirm at 130-150 lands it (maybe a forward air or up air) and then ends up killing with a nair at 180 when the kill confirm didn't finish captain falcon. Doesn't mean yink is bad but to me it's just odd character design. Another thing is yink has a very very tough time killing from center stage his forward air won't kill until almost 200 from center.

It's not a good match up for falcon. It's a solid -1. Falcon struggles with any character that has such lagless projectiles. Not to mention the crazy hit boxes and frame data yink has. But as of lately fatality has not been looking so good in the match up. I think that's just because yinks are getting more and more optimized. It's unfortunate falcon really is mid tier.

It’s a bad matchup but Young Link’s arrows are just annoying to deal with in general especially because theyre super fast and be used as combo starters.

Yl is small, fast, frame data on his arials are broken and he covers with his projectiles every kind of approach falcon can do. He can punish every falcon move like very very easily. The only times fatality could actually kill jd was when jds hands were hurting from pressing winning buttons tbh.

I mean those are bad MU's for Falcon so it makes sense that he lost. And he has been a Falcon main since PM, he's never dropping Falcon, but he definitely needs a secondary which is why he's been experimenting with a lot of characters and it seems like Kazuya might be it for him.

What Fatality needs is a secondary that counters Falcon's bad matchups, dare I remind he forced MkLeo to drop Aegis against him not that much recently? The character is not the problem, but Fatality's lack of secondary is.

I disagree they made Links Foot too strong did you see how many moves it can cancel while beeing safe on shiekd? I think Links nair neutralize Ganons side smash. This game has some big balance flaws I agree. Some characters got insane hitboxes on their moves or frame data overall while others are just sooo punished by how little they can do against specific archetypes.

Yeah it is not balanced at all but hey nothing is stopping you from playing the most broken character other than your skill

Why would Nintendo care if you “boycott” a character? You already bought the game. And they’re done making balance patches. It’s impossible to perfectly balance 80+ characters, and they’re not catering to the competitive community anyway. You can either accept the game for what it is or stop playing at this point.
