BEST indeed! I keep coming back every single day! Simon got me to produce best tracks i have in my whole life and people go "woha" now. Simon single handedly made me purchase midi keyboard for $400 and NOT REGRET it without saying a single marketing pitch or encouragement statement to do so. He inspired me to practice music theory every day and now i know what the hell i'm doing it for. And I keep learning more every vid. for example in this video i learned what the hell percussion is for and how to use it, without Simon even making an accent on it. I can really tell Simon went to University when watching his videos and BOI was i hyped when I found out he's in Toronto too. This channel is a real golden nugget in an endless sea of shite on youtube. Simon keep it up, buddy! We need you! You're going to be BIG one day!
You’re actually an S ranking RU-vidr and producer. Can’t believe Kyle ranked you B... I guess he’s just biased cos you started out participating in his competition
You should do another 4 producers flip the same sample with Kyle beats Sharpe Kbeazy It would be my 3 favorite youtube producer and someone I know that gets talked about alot
Man, that bass line is DIRTY! I've been looking for a way to funk my bass lines up, and I think that syncopation with octave jumps technique is fantastic. Thanks man
Simon, just found your channel recently! Luckily RU-vid recommended me your videos. I instantly loved them. You’re really talented and very entertaining. Keep up the videos!
Thanks for showing that beats don't need to be super complicated to sound great. A lot of beginners (myself included) get overwhelmed with all the different effects and stuff and forget to nail the basics.
Im really not sure how I feel about that vst at the start. I think you should learn enough theory to be able to know the chord progression without the use of a vst.
The one thing I find really interesting about these videos is seeing how different producers think. I heard that chord progression and immediately thought "that would be a pretty cool drum and bass song" whereas you thought to make this. That's the coolest thing about music to me, how different people interpret things
This actually slides like crazy, but I was hoping to see some more variation in the phrase transitions, especially in the middle and end of the bridge. Great bass line tho
Hey simon, so i made a beat inspired from the one you made in this video, however, one thing that seems off in my beat is the riff (the retroarcade tone).I used the same sound, and i got it to fit in quiet nicely with the rest of the track, but, it's extremely invasive or let's say distracting, i am both a producer and a rapper, and if this was just an instrumental for people to relax to or vibe to it w'd be fine to leave it like that, HOWEVER, i wanna rap on it as well. I didn't upload it on my channel or anything because i genuinely want feedback on what i did and an advice on how to make better leads that are interesting AND non-distracting. If you're cool with it and need to listen to what i got, contact me through this mail: Cluelesshiphop@gmail.com Or reply to this comment and tell me if i should send the track by mail or if i should upload it to your chosen platform. Thanks for any help and Thanks for doing your videos big inspiration and extremely educational for someone like myself, much love, cheers !
Nice Drop. Would like to see how would make a liquid Drum n Bass beat. Do you have a Tutorial for a sweep Effect Generator? Its a bit tricky to built it in FL. It is mostly used for electronic music, but I like it, cause a bit of it, is also nice in other types of Beats.
Wow mate. I really want to learn music production and eventually singing. I like the style of artists like “The Weeknd” this video really helped out a lot 🙌
simon you should have a rap on my beat contest!, give the artists a chance to be featured, like winner does a song with you or gets to be on a video with you or something
Thanks for let me know 'bout Scaler. Really usefull stuff, especially when you not in, like, average major or minor, but some kind of... idk, Dorian #4 (4th mode of harmonic minor).
