Alex, last year I become data analyst with following your contents and projects! Portfolio helped me a lot both confidence and topic in interview, thank! Now challenge is become a Data Engineer next year. Hope to inform you as soon as it does.
Hey, are you thinking about doing a one-year master's degree to make your next career move easier? Right now, I'm working as an advertising analyst in e-commerce and trying to figure out my next steps. I'm kind of leaning toward getting a master's, but I'm not entirely sure if I should go for information systems, data science, or business analysis.
Hey, yes actually I'm getting my master's degree right now, I started when I got data analyst. My bachelor is system(industrial) engineering so I kinda needed some lectures in my transcript such as data structures and algorithms and object oriented programming. Now I have cloud lecture AWS related and I hope it will be helpful :) I say, go for it data science or information systems work for you I guess. Good luck for us! :) @@SICHENLI-jv2kz
I'm an analyst. I'm an introvert too (Its painfully obvious in the office). With that said, you'll get used to it and so will your co-workers and stakeholders. All you have to do is deal with a bit of small talk and then its straight to business.
If you’re afraid of public speaking, you can learn the skill for it and not have to be outgoing. Presenting to business leaders on business information you’re confident on is much easier than you might think, especially since it’s not typically like you’re standing at the front of the boardroom with everyone staring at you.
Honestly almost all data analyst positions will need to present in some way - either to your team or stakeholders. I was very introverted when I first started, but I think it helped me being a bit more extroverted and got better at presenting. There will definitely be a lot of days where it's just heads down on your computer though.
You will learn to come across as an extrovert over time! I often find introverts are better presenters because they don’t want to talk 😂 So they bring in audience engagement etc and ask questions
Thanks for the thoroughness of your videos. I'm considering going into a tech job with zero tech experience and your content has been so helpful as I consider the options.
We are moving prod instance to production today! Going to Q/A for a day or two to make sure our prod servers are looking good and then we are good to go!
Alex , you have been doing an amazing job with these videos it has helped me a lot, currently I'm junior data analyst , I want to understand how to upskill myself to mid and senior by improving quality and presentation of my work so I can target larger companies or get promoted in my current role, would be great if you can create content around that for current junior analysts
Thoughts on how to transition from FP&A to data analyst? Currently at $115K. I'm advanced in Excel and use some PBI. I know SQL and am learning Python. I want to make a lateral move in salary and eventually go up in salary.
Seems like there would be a lot of crossover there. I would use your current experience to target mid/senior level roles - especially if you're trying to target that salary range. Try to use your domain knowledge and focus applying to larger companies that can match that salary range.
Hi Alex im a student doing bsc in biotechnology and biosafety,im interested in data analysis can that create a great scope for me and is possible to succeed in the field of data analysis?
