Nice discussion on what a Data Engineering role is: one thing that I would like to add based on my 9+ years of Data Engineering experience is the development and deployment of Infrastructure on Cloud environments and knowledge about IaaC like Terraform or Cloud Formation.

You can get plenty of online tutorials which would help you prepare for a career in Data Analytics. All you need is a plan and abide to it. Top skills would be - a programming language (Python since it simple and easy to learn), SQL, understanding of big data ecosystem, data pipeline, scheduler (Airflow). Get certified and I'm sure you will get a decent job. With abundance of free knowledge on the web, one does not need explicit coaching, all you need is consistency and desire to learn. All the best.

Sir I saw your phd vs Ms data science video. I'm a MCA student. I want to phd in Computer science focusing on machine learning/ Deep learning. I don't want go in teaching career. I want to go in company R&D only. Q1) What negative and positive side of my disition ? Q2) how to overcome those negatives? Q3) For a phd guy, his/her publish paper should in minimum Q4,Q3,Q2,Q1 journal? For R&D job Q4) any other suggestion.

Is pay really the only motivation here? Sometime i wish they would drop the salaries of SWE's for one year to 20k , just to see all of the unholy careerist start falling over themselves to get MBAs
