I think everyone can agree that Petey Piranha, Diddy Kong, Funky Kong and Pauline are pretty much garunteed but I hope that the last character in is King Bob-omb but if not him then Kamek would fit nicely as well.
I don't think Pauline is confirmed manly sense she was in tour rather then an actual game. I would see wiggler or a paratroopa come in the game before Pauline

As you say, Petey Piranha is practically in due to Piranha Plant Cove, but I hope we get at least one 'weird' character, even one not in Tour like R.O.B or Wiggler!
@@Swiftjar I think mob_DK could mean an entirely different type of "Donkey Kong", specifically the Donkey Kong in 1981. This could indicate a track based on the original Donkey Kong as it takes place in urban construction sites similar to the ones where Mario clashed with the original Donkey Kong (aka: Cranky Kong) at to save Pauline. If that ends up being the case, then this, along with her appearances in recent games since her big break in Super Mario Odyssey & her appearance in The Super Mario Bros. Movie, would greatly boost the chances that Pauline may have to be in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Of course, as with any guess, theory, and/or assumption, I could be incorrect on that. Ultimately, we'll just have to wait and see.
@@TheOmniverse1 Pauline will come for sure. She is one of the most popular Mario characters. My guesses are: DK Junior (sprite form), Funky Kong, Pauline, Diddy Kong, King Bob-Omb, and Chargin Chuck. That's what seems more likely to me.
@@jumentoqueanima I'm sure Pauline has a good chance to be in MK8DX. I was just thinking about "mob_DK" and what it could mean. Many say it's another Donkey Kong track, but sometimes, I feel it may not be the type of "Donkey Kong" that's more well-known for its modern & jungle-centric franchise, but instead the original Donkey Kong in 1981, where it started all of both Mario & Donkey Kong's adventures. I hope @Swiftjar touches upon making a prediction video specifically for what "mob_DK" could be, and mentions how it could be based on the original 1981 Donkey Kong.
These are also my five character predictions actually! I like how you went over reasoning and release timings I actually think the order you came up with makes alot of sense too! That being said I have a massive soft spot for Hammer Bro, so I'd be very happy to see if he ended up being included with the other bros as alts. And perhaps if not now in a future time, because he's not exactly looking the most likely in my opinion
I think Funky will be the last character added in Wave 6. It makes sense he would be in the non-Mario character row, as he’s technically not a Mario character.
@@spookysushi4079 what you say doesn’t make sense, that is just a skin of Mario as a zombie, that’s similar to Wario’s Zombie form from the WL games, the other one is literally a Diddy Kong costume named after Diddy Kong, that’s even right in between the Wario and Waluigi costumes And Diddy is particularly special because Mario was given a skin referencing him directly, unlike the rest of DKC, that only have New Donk City locations named after them
@@spookysushi4079 Diddy has been in plenty Mario games: Mario Golf Toadstool Tour, Mario Golf World Tour, Mario Kart DD, Wii, Arcade and Tour, in Mario Party since DS, 3 Mario Tennis games, Mario Baseball, Mario Strikers, the Mario & Sonic series, Mario Sports Mix... he even has references in Mario Maker and Odyssey. Funky has three appearances: Mario Kart Wii, Mario Kart Tour, and Mario Sluggers. To me it's clear Diddy is pretty much a Mario character, while Funky is more of a "special guest".
@Swiftjar Hey, I recently thought about what could be another clue to how characters can be predicted, and that you could touch upon it in another video one day. You see, when Birdo was added into Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, her Pipe Frame had a color scheme that was NEVER used by any other racer. Birdo drove a Hot Pink Pipe Frame just like Wendy O. Koopa; but it lacked the additional special colors for the joints & exhaust pipe that Wendy & the Koopalings' Pipe Frames had, resulting in Birdo's Pupe Frame to have normal joint & exhaust pipe colors. Birdo's Hot Pink Pipe Frame is also a stark contrast to the Magenta Pipe Frame that Birdo drove in Mario Kart Tour. And that got me thinking... Maybe the Koopalings' Pipe Frames, with the exception of Larry's which is yellow - an already used color, could give us clues to what characters we may have added into Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. For example, with Roy Koopa's Pipe Frame being Magenta, then the likeliest character to have a Magenta Pipe frame as well would be Pauline, at least in my opinion. Of course, the Pipe Frame Colors may not always be a guaranteed clue, as I don't think Diddy Kong or Petey Pirahna would drive Pipe Frames in colors the same colors as the Koopaling's Pipe Frames (Iggy's Pipe Frame is too bright of a shade of green for Petey; and none of the other Koopaling Pipe Frame colors would suit Diddy as much as the Orange Pipe Frame he drove in Tour). But still, I thought it'd be something you might find interesting & touch upon it in a new video if you want.
One thing I hope they do when they’re done releasing all the characters is rearrange the character select screen 😅 Having Birdo not next to Yoshi, the Mii not in the bottom right corner and the third party characters not all being in the same row would kill me everytime I look at that screen 🥲😂
@@Swiftjar If you do not have the BCP purchased, then the character placements have an eShop icon with an attached link in their place. Shuffling them with the standard character icons may seem arbitrary and a little stingy to new players. Nintendo is all about clear UI design, and so having Birdo appear next to Yoshi, but be a separate purchase would be confusing and unnecessary.
I think that we could get Hammer Bro instead of Pauline because he was released in tour with LA laps which will be one of the city courses coming to 8 deluxe

Though, to be honest, the Warp Pipe theory would make a Warp Pipe track similar to 3DS Pirahna Plant Slide, which is already heavily centered around warp pipes (and Pirahna Plants, of course), or at least a maze / level within the pipes, like the Pipe Maze from Super Mario Bros. 3. So, I'm still gonna lean towards mob_ DK being something related to Donkey Kong, especially if it's possibly (but not guaranteed) the original 1981 Donkey Kong.
I think it’s likely mob_DK is also Donkey Kong however to say it’s based on the arcade game is a bit of a stretch, it’s more than likely gonna be based on DK Island from the original DKC game, especially since more people are fans of the Country games than the original arcade games not to mention that King K. Rool’s inclusion in Smash Ultimate all thanks to the ballot have gotten people clamoring for the Kremlings return, I think this track could be the starting point to their eventual return
@@brandonkong4299 Another valid point. However, we already got a track centered around Donkey Kong Island, that being 3DS DK Jungle. Out of all the Donkey Kong named tracks, 3DS DK Jungle is the closest thing we have to a track fully based on the Donkey Kong franchise. This is because unlike the other Donkey Kong tracks, 3DS DK Jungle has both the environment and enemies of Donkey Kong Country Returns for the Wii & its 3DS Remake. But unlike the theory of a Warp Pipe-based track (as someone said DK could mean "Dokun", another word for "pipe"), another Donkey Kong track based on the franchise instead of the original 1981 arcade is not too far off & can actually be implemented. Ultimately, we can only wait and see what happens with Mario Kart Tour & Mario Kart 8 Deluxe as time progresses.
It's also possible that Mob_DK could be "Dark Kingdom" like an original Bowser castle or Bowser course. Mob_OR was always thought to be Orlando because of the OR also being present in ORlando. However I feel like naming it Mob_DK would make it too obvious...which Nintendo isn't always. I think we need a Bowser castle tbh especially with the datamine showing all prefixes pointing to a new Nitro coming right before Wii Rainbow Road (it's obvious that it's going to be the last race in the Spiny Cup). Plus! Spiked shells are always associated with Bowser and the new Mario movie shows a Spiny shell Koopa is going to be a main antagonist. Not to mention that we haven't had a SINGLE Bowser castle in the BCP yet. DK has a few tracks to his name in MK8D with DK Jungle and DK Summit. Plus it's probably going to add either Dino Dino Jungle or DK mountain to the BCP at SOME point wether Wave 5 or 6 as the GCN track. Both of which being DK based tracks as well, Dino Dino Jungle is a bit of a Grey area but a lot of Jungle tracks are associated with DK.

I think we will have one character for every past MK: Donkey Kong Jr (from Snes), Birdo (from NGC), Rob (from DS), Funky Kong (from Wii), Honey Queen (from 3DS) and Pauline (from Tour )
@@ChiefMedicPururu Diddy might not be missing but Diddy, Petey and Birdo all made their first appearance in Double Dash. I think 3 of 6 characters from the same MK are too many and Birdo is already here...so we will get Diddy or Petey but Petey has its own track: Piranha Plant Cove. We may not see Diddy...
It would be nice if in addition to these 5 characters they added alternatives "colors" for Koopa. This way we could not only get the 5 freerunning Koopas from Odyssey which appear in Tour, but this would be an easy way to finally get ParaTroopa back !!! Heck, we could even get a red Koopa and a green ParaTroopa, why not ? Especially considering that 5 Freeruning + 2 ParaTroopas + 2 Koopas make for 9 slots, i.e. the same number of slots dedicated for color variations of Yoshi, Birdo and Shy Guy ! Would make a lot of sense...
I think the datamined DK track is going to be a new Rainbow Road inspired by the Mario Movie. If you think about it, it makes sense since in the movie the part of Mario Kart is linked to the Kong family. It would be amazing if they included a whole new Rainbow Road.
I think Petey Piranha, ROB, Diddy Kong, Funky Kong, and Kirby (with a cheeky justification of his inclusion along the lines of him racing on Rainbow Road)
I can live with this selection. I really am hoping that Pauline and Kamek get in. Especially Kamek since he was cut from two prior console Mario Kart games. I prefer that he be named Kamek rather than Magikoopa.
I would swap Kamek's placement with Pauline since he lines up better next to the Koopalings, Besides that it sounds pretty solid. The one character I feel might have some trouble is suprisingly Diddy, Which might be an odd thing to say but two Kongs feels like a big ask even if we are getting a DK track, I'm predicting something we're not expecting such as Peachette.
Kirby has raced on rainbow road, so he is loosely a returning character, especially given the fact that the rainbow road he raced on is now in the game.
It would suck to get Kamek without his broom kart. I really hope they keep this game alive with more DLC after this booster pass. The next console won’t be out for a while and Mariokart 9 is at least two years or more away.
They never rearranged the DLC characters for Mario Kart 8, Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS/Wii U or Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, so don't expect them to do it this time.
My prediction : Wave 5 with Diddy and Kamek Wave 6 with Funky, Petey and Pauline These are the characters that everyone predicts, so I'm not going to re-explain these choices, but I can go a little further in the argument. The selection seems very balanced : Birdo and Diddy : 2 recurring characters Kamek and Pauline : 2 new characters on console Funky and Petey : 2 characters exclusive to two different opus (GCN and Wii) It's possible that they drop the two Kongs in wave 5 in order to put them together, or else they would precisely avoid putting two Kongs in a same wave. I can see them deciding to separate the two Kongs, so they could drop at the same time the two most requested fan favourites (Petey and Funky) + one new character on console (Pauline), that would be a perfect finish for wave 6. This would then be : Wave 5 : 1 recurring and 1 new ; Wave 6 : 2 fan favorites and 1 new. Seems pretty realistic, right ? As for placement (even if I think they don't really care), here's my order : Diddy is on the light row (with Toad, Koopa, Shy Guy, Lakitu, Toadette) and the most logical to drop after Birdo Kamek is on the baby row because Yoshi's Island Funky Kong is on the heavy row and the same as Donkey Kong Petey Piranha is on the secondary bosses row Pauline because she's "the" Nintendo character of the last years gets the special place Everything seems really logical and makes sense, but that's the problem, Nintendo and logic sometimes are two very different words!
Although it's unlikely, I'm really hoping they'll pull an "Everyone Is Here" and make this the ultimate Mario Kart. Hoping they'll add a few new kart parts as well.
I wish bro, but tbh I feel like the next Mario kart will be on the next Nintendo console, the switch is underpowered compared to the Xbox series x and PlayStation 5, which isn’t an insult it’s just an older console so it makes sense. But because of that I feel like they are somewhat limited to how much they can do due to the switches hardware limitations. So if they really are gonna make an ultimate edition it, it would be best to do it on the next gen console
I think the predictions are really solid!! If Mario Kart Tour is included in "returning characters" (which I think it is) it could be a variety of characters, but if for some reason it's NOT including tour, Diddy Kong, Funky Kong, and Petey Piranha will be guaranteed, along with the possibility of Paratroopa, Wiggler and Honey Queen. I highly doubt they'd bring R.O.B. back
Fully agree with the character choices, however I think that the MobDK course (if relating to an actual Donkey Kong Course) will be released in Wave 6 which will also be when they release, Funky, Diddy and Pauline. Pauline being the original damsel in distress in the first DK game makes sense. Petey and Kamek would then be released in Wave 5
my personal thoughts are that the characters included will probably be something like this: - Diddy Kong - Petey Piranha - Pauline - Kamek - King Bob-omb My reasoning behind the character selections I made is simply to balance out the list of 3 characters predating tour, and 3 characters that were introduced in tour, I also wanted to try and avoid overlap with characters that are npcs or track obstacles in the game, like Hammer Bro. or Monty Mole, plus King Bob-omb is much cooler to me than any of the other potential choices. Funky Kong is likely, but I don't really think he or Dixie are necessary with such a small character list.
I know it’s most likely not going to happen (especially since he’s not in Mariokart Tour), but I really want to see R.O.B. make a reappearance… The bottom row has only ever had non-Mario characters (Splatoon, Zelda, Animal Crossing and Mii), so R.O.B. would fit right in with them
The bottom row of the character select screen is all non-Mario characters (Splatoon, Animal Crossing, Link and Miis) so having a Mario character there would seem strange and out of place. So perhaps we will get another non-Mario character?
I actually have the same predictions but in a different order. I think Pauline and Diddy Kong will appear in wave 5 and Funky Kong, Kamek and Petey Piranha will appear in wave 6.
@@Swiftjar And it'd be Deja-Vu, in a good way that is. Remember the 2nd update of Mario Strilers Battle League? Diddy & Pauline were updated together in MSBL. So I would not be surprised but yet be happtif the same thing happened for Mario Kart 8 Deuxe as well.
The roster is pretty much perfect. I'd switch Kamek and Pauline on the select screen just cuz it looks nicer with Kamek next to the Koopalings. Otherwise, this is a great video 😄
I think we’re getting another row at the bottom after the remaining slots are filled up, and i dont think its gonna go by wave l, i think its gonna be random with the odd character being revealed in a wave
I'm predicting that Pauline will be in Wave 5, Kamek will be in Wave 6, Diddy Kong will be in the wave with mob_dk (which, given the state of branding for the movie, is absolutely DK Island), Petey Piranha will be in the wave with Piranha Plant Cove, and either Nabbit or Funky Kong will be in, depending on whether Diddy Kong is in Wave 6.
I think MobDK will be a course based on the Donkey Kong arcade game. We've already had many Donkey Kong jungle-themed courses, including one based on Donkey Kong Country Returns. The movie probably has no impact on the courses in Mario Kart Tour and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

It is a possibility to have paratroopa and colour skins for the koopa with koopa cape. I still want more diddy and funky kong, petey piranha, wiggler and kamek but still, it’s not impossible to have alternates for koopa with Wii Koopa Cape. They could also do the same with Wii Toad Factory and add alts for toad
I believe that Petey Piranha and Piranha Plant Cove will come in Wave 5 and a second character will also join (maybe Chargin Chuck or Hammer Bro who have both been tied to LA Laps). And Wave 6 will be a huge DK blowout, with an original DK course based on the Kong Island in the Mario Movie and all 3 characters in Wave 6 being Kongs (Diddy, Funky and either Cranky or Dixie). I’ll go even one further: I think the crazy Kong karts (and tires/gliders) we saw in the Mario movie trailer will also be added in Wave 6 in the parts selection menu.
I definitely feel like your predictions are accurate, but I really do wish we could get a wild inclusion such as Kirby or Captain Falcon; even among the Mario cast, I'd love to see E. Gadd lol That said, I'd be pretty happy with Pauline, Diddy Kong, and Petey Piranha nonetheless
I can expect the SNES versions of Mario and Donkey Kong Jr, because they will surely put at least one Mario, and SNES Mario will accomplish the statement of returning character, and yet, the other remaining characters are Petey Piranha, Diddy Kong and Funky Kong
I dont see Tour characters getting in regard of LIKELYHOOD since they clarified as PAST GAMES in the MK series, which only characters prior to Tour will be in the pass.
