I don't know Casey. I like the Karma over the Mavic. Mostly due to the fact that the camera and gimble comes off and is used separate from the drone.

+Bradley Patterson no doubt the karma is a better camera system. The gimbal and camera are incredible. For the price the karma is a no brained. But just looking at the drone the mavic has the edge with superior flight controls and range

Its hard to say for sure but it looks like he is flying within 5 miles of an airport which is against the FAA regulations.

Technically not true- you just have to have clearance from the tower which simply involves calling them and notifying them where you are flying and your ceiling altitude. They could of course deny you clearance.

The drone is flying pretty low. I don't know the regulations but it would make sense that drones are only tolerated at low altitude. He would probably be in big trouble if he was flying the drone near or over the statue of liberty, which he didn't do.

Put your pitchforks down. This is how reviews work *everywhere*. Name any technology website/channel, The Verge, Engadget, MKBHD, WIRED, Droid Life etc - they get all of their review products sent to them for free. More often then not they get to keep the products. That's just how it works. Obviously Casey has a less structured approach, but it's the same idea. I have personally collected dozens of headphones and other expensive gadgets for free in return for writing reviews for an online publication.

Brian Landers just so you know there are many helicopters and airplanes in that area, which is why it's illegal. That shot was beautiful but I'd hate to see him get in trouble over something so dumb. Very good episode. Great drone excursion passing the statue of liberty, with the south Manhattan night skyline in the background. One of the most iconic drone films so far. Interesting to hear about the versatility of the latest DJI creation. Nobu is such a great restaurant; getting hungry just by watching the invitation. Candice looked fine, as did her new jewelry. (Casey was a bit whiny about his necklace?). The screaming young fanclub was hilarious. Obviously RU-vid and the likes are the media of the future.
