Okay. Attractiveness is always a major factor when discussing dating women. Out of curiosity… aging happens. Illness happens. Accidents happen. You’re partner could walk away with SIGNIFICANT burns all over their bodies. Chemotherapy can cause teeth to rot/fall out. How much more important is physical appeal really when there’s no guarantee they’ll endure over time?

The “after 25 year and move on” comment from wootak at the beginning reminds me of the “left over” women concept here in the east. Also another concept is the “break up payment” when men don’t plan on marrying and waste a young lady’s baby making prime time.

Viet brought up some good points why people cheat but there are other pivotal reasons why people cheat. 1. The relationship is based on idealization and infatuation and nothing more which modern day dating is mostly like these days. If it's based on idealization/infatuation or how alluring their partner is of course they will cheat cause the whole scenario is equivalent to a kid getting a cool toy and when he or she sees a more shiny toy the old toy will get replaced. Similar to a girl getting out of the Justin Bieber phase and tearing his poster down. 2. They settled on the relationship because the biological clock is ticking and the relationship is based on peer pressure which happens a lot in Asian countries, especially Korea. There is usually no emotional connection or intimate bonding in this relationship. 3. Shotgun wedding, majority of Korean men don't wear condoms and one night stands are extremely prevalent in Korea, so if they don't go through with the abortion process they usually end up being stuck with one another although they don't love each other. 4. Hurt people hurt people, when someone gets cheated on, abused, exploited, manipulated or harmed physically or mentally by one too many partners it usually leads to misogyny or misandry. So they put a label on the opposite sex and will try to get even. 5. Hypergamy kicks in and they feel the grass is greener on the other side, Wootak brought up pre-selection which is also why when you start dating girls who your ex perceive as higher tier than her or find out you have way more options than she first realized, chances are she will want you back. Girls doesn't want to feel like she is the bottom of the barrel but got picked out of all the other girls you had a chance with, women want men with options. Men USUALLY love idealistically and women usually love opportunistically that is why classical or great romantic art, music, books and structures are written, composed, made or constructed by men and I am not talking about the Twilight and 50 Shades of Gray bullshit, just look at the Taj Mahal built for the Emperor's favorite wife. Men are the true romantic and what is romance in a relationship between couples?...It's sacrifice. 6. They get bored, every relationship the flame eventually dies off. Thus is the reason why the women end up watching Korean dramas with a bucket of ice cream cause they want that fantasy sweetness in their life and the men drink soju while watching soccer going on and on about how they could have done better. This is why K-Pop and Host Clubs are so prevalent in the entertainment industry and rack up tons of cash by selling fake love, utilizing the marketing and PR team to do it. With women putting down stacks of hard earned cash to these Host who knows how to push all the right emotional buttons to get to the top. The way they maneuver around is by preying on lonely women who have a huge void within and wants to feel a man's love...However they crave that fantasy love to the point they give away most of what they have and some ends up working in brothels in order to continue to get a bit more dose of that fantasy. 7. Mommy issues or daddy issues. If it's a fling it's one thing but if you want a long term relationship watch how the bf treats his mother, does he show love and honor her or neglect her. As for the father figure make sure the girlfriend shows genuine respect and looks up to him cause if she despise her father or doesn't particular hate him but doesn't think much of him chances are she will give you the bare minimum in the relationship.
I agree with 80% of your comment but there is some nuance missing in the latter half of your comment. the mommy issues and daddy issues is not 100% true some people have horrible or even abusive parents and rightfully dislike or do not have a relatoinship with their parents(BTW men can have daddy issues and women can have mommy issues as well) also some people regardless of gender have an unhealthy bond to their parents ie mommy boys and daddys girls, both these types tend to be horrible partners because they have an emotional incestious relationship/enmeshed attachment to their parent and their parents are too involved in their lives becoming horrible mothers and or fathers in laws that can and will ruin their childs relationships on purpose. Also the reason why so much literature in romance is written by men is because women were not allowed to write and not allowed to publish for a very long time so that argument of men being the romantics is not accurate. also women also often did not have contorl their own income so of course wo me cant build stuff for men in those days also certain romantic expressions were not seen as appropriate or received well if women did them or do them. How many men actually want roses and chocolates and a pretty bag from their gf in modern times? sure there are some but how common is it? Also it's a bit ignorant to list twilight and 50 shades as the representations of romantic literature by women. In the modern era women have ruled romance literature and also if you look at the loved classic in romantic literature there is jane austin and the bronte sisters. great authors with wondeful and insightful romantic stories. Also men can be very opportunitsic and idealistic in romance in the sense that men back in the day dated high profile women to get accss to their inheritance because women could not use their money and that money and land and resources would belong to the husband and they also got more resources due to the title of a woman. Also women were seen as a resouece and property ie creates heirs for the man and does domestic labour, has sex with the man and also helps him in social settings (improves his status) even in modern times married men are more likely to get a promotion then single men. To some men a wife is literally a sex maid ie they get sexual services and domestic services and can have kids but dont have to deal with them ie raise them (most or all that work is put on the gf or wife). All those are services a man can benefit from and the average guy could not affor to pay for those services individually on a daily basis for decades ( a wife provides several services for cheap). And women also idealise romantic love and marrige and men, girls from a young age are socialised to romanticse marrige, boys and family life and relationships, they wil ignore so many red flags and so many red flags in media and cultire are even romanticised towards women. Also there are host clubs for men and also the sex entertainment industry that is mostly driven by male clients spending money on that, then there are insta models/influencers and e-girls and only fans and escorts and sugar babies that men will spend so much money on .
my favorite episode is Viet"s because we agree on a lot of the same ideals and while we lived a very different life we agree on a lot of the same beliefs.

As for plastic surgery during my younger years I would have been against it...But the more experienced me understands. For example in Korea you need to put your recent picture of yourself on your resume in order to get a job. And in some countries the halo effect is very prevalent and physiognomy is considered science. Everyone want to be treated humanely.
