As we start our new series, Save the Date, we have to admit we might not be so good at dating. We might think we're going in the direction of marriage in a relationship, but then we make bad decisions that take us on detours. We see in Judges 14-16 through the story of Samson how pursuing the wrong people, giving into lust, and playing games only hurts us. Love is meant to be sincere. When we are fully surrendered to God, love can be a beautiful thing. Are you on the right path or have you taken detours? __

He's right about one thing (if ya disagree with the msg as a whole) we as a society are getting worse at relationships....if a shift doesn't happen soon, folks will not know basic principles of living...between being bogged down with crazy debt & attached to phones, real life is being pushed out

Many people profess to be God loving, fearing and may even be church going people. The guys I've dated, and I mean JUST DINNER (not what the world means by 'dating'), on all other levels they want to 'show' they're on the right path, Except for sexual immorality. That's their one (that you can see at first) 'exception' in their eyes. That's wickedness. God is my Guy now, until I find the One I'm meant to be with. This is really like fighting a mudslide and climbing the hill at the same time. You seem to make little ground, but seeds are being planted (Godly seeds) and the fruit there of will be a beautiful thing. God bless y'all!!

Um, wait a second, brother. I find it difficult to agree with the answer about whether or not I should date a woman I'm not physically attracted to, though she's in God's Word and full of the spirit. I'm in God's Word and full of the spirit, too. The given response is that "you shouldn't date her because you're not spiritually mature enough to date her." Please help me understand. I'm not trying to be rude. My thought is that, though physical attraction isn't everything, it is important. After all, even as a pastor, I'm sure (if Jonathan is reading this) that YOU, Jonathan, were physically attracted to YOUR wife when you dated her, correct? If not, I mean no offense. But, please help me understand how such a blanket statement can be applied to all Christian men who are seeking a wife and struggle with this question when most (if not all) of us wouldn't be here if our parents weren't attracted to one another. As I said above, I'm in God's Word and Presence, seeking His Face, and I'm full of the Spirit, too. If a woman isn't physically attracted to me, I can't fault her for that, and I can't call her spiritually immature (or vice versa). Please get back to me, bro. I'm not trying to pick an argument or fight. I look forward to your response. Bryan

+B Pierre , Thanks for your comment. The "bullseye" would be that you are attracted to what God is attracted to. Pornography, TV, media in general, and many other things have turned our hearts to be attracted to things that don't matter to God. So, if a woman is deeply abiding with Jesus, yielded to His Spirit, and committed to His word and we're not at all attracted to her- we should at least wonder why. Moreover, if we're attracted to a lesser committed Christ follower who is more physically attractive, that should cause us some concern. thanks cause I noticed I'm attracted to the bad naughty guys.I was just tired of fake Christian men who ask you out then want to touch you and have phone sex cause they say it's harmless. so I decided that if I'm dating a bad guy he must really be bad not a pretender at church that's worse than one who isn't born again I think. But now I have come to believe that I should stay in church maybe I'll meet a real Christian not a wil in sheeps clothing. not a venomous snake.one day I will.one day

I disagree with what he says. A marriage is a sexual relationship and if you don’t find them attractive you’ll be turned off from them sexually. Sorry - you can love them but physical attraction had to be present. Sometimes people will grow on you and you’ll be physically attracted which is great - If that happens you’ll want to date them. As long as you don’t want to kiss them forget it.

I love these videos they’re very helpful I just don’t understand how they go from whispering to screaming I listen to this on headphones so I had to turn it all the way up to hear it when they wanna get quiet then I have to immediately turn it back down when they start screaming the next sentence. I love what you said about the appetite for sex outside of marriage. My gf and I have done sexual stuff, but she and I feel guilty and we decided to stop but please pray that we listen to the holy spirit. Its weird because I dont think of her sexually very much at all especially when we are at our own houses. I am really thinking about popping the question. So please pray for that as well. I really love these sermons.

Maybe there isn't a direct commandment against it, but surely it is still seen as sinful in the old testament. For example in Deuteronomy 23 says that there shouldn't be prostitutes among Israel nor the salary of a prostitute be given to the temple.
