East Asians are more traditional and more family oriented. The Pros is they are traditional, the Cons is also they are traditional, which means marriage & family is VERY important to them. It may not be good to those who just want to live by themselves & don't want involvement with other family members.

I speak a few words in mandarin I’m no where near at a conversational level. I’m trying to improve my mandarin because I love my girlfriend When you break out of the matrix (the west) you see that most people just view you as a human-being Yeah some people may have some preconceived notions but that’s all the more reason to shatter their beliefs If you’re serious about getting a Taiwanese girlfriend then at least make an effort to learn some Mandarin it will go a very long way Really whatever country you go to when you speak their language (even if just Few words) it brings down so many walls and warms people up There’s nothing sweeter to a persons ear than hearing you speak their mother tongue
Taiwanese are not racist and actually love foreigners. if you try to speak a little they will definetly help you most they can. most of young people will speak tiny bit. alot more in taipei
