The doctor that refused to prescribe suppression therapy should be sued for malpractice. It shows his general lack of understanding the risk of shedding while asymptotic. While you are making the best of being infected and infecting your partner and that’s great, but you got really bad medical advice.

I just want to say that I have a friend with the virus and she received it from her husband messing around so is she disgusting? she has a great life eats well and takes care of her self and even found a good man this virus becomes apart of you when you find out you have it but it is not a person's whole make up I'm disgusted by some of the comments and realize that people are scared to come forward and tell people their condition because of people judging and looking at them like they have the plague it's not life threatening I give this man applause for his courage to step out and love this women with All the criticism

You’re videos are great....very informative. Thank you for being so open about your experience and promoting positivity to battle the stigma. I’d like to know more about what it is like for a woman during an outbreak. The pictures online are pretty vivid....and appear to be extremely painful. An effective scare tactic to say the least. With that being said, I recently reconnected with an old flame. We really hit it off, and decided to make it official. He recently got an STD test because his last relationship was with a HSV-2 positive woman. He test came back positive. We haven’t been intimate since reconnecting ( I’m grateful we waited), but now I find myself afraid of the thought. He hasn’t had an outbreak yet, but he is a carrier. I know it’s easier to transmit for a man to transmit it to a woman that the reverse. He’s been really understanding of my reservations and has agreed to be celibate, but I can tell it bothers him. I’ve been educating myself on the risks and the statistics, but it doesn’t feel like enough to make a truly informed decision. I do love him, but it would be so hard having to calculate sex all the time to avoid contracting it myself...and even with the best efforts I may still end up positive. I don’t want to punish him for being honest and upfront with me. I’d love your advice...what is it like for you dealing with an outbreak? Do you know anyone that has a partner that has remained negative? Thanks in advance for your advice.

What a great couple. You can see how much they love each other. I have had Herpes for 31 years by someone who was dishonest, controlling, selfish, hateful and purposely passed it on. At first I though life was over. It is not. But it is hard when you need to tell someone you have it before being intimate. I have had different reactions, but like this couple if you find someone that really loves you and wants a commitment they will accept you. Unfortunately, there are so many people who don't want commitment and will kick you to the curb. Find a good person.

I think its important to treat lack of testing and lack of disclosure prior to sexual contact as basically equivalent in the case of herpes- its the difference between 1/1000 chance and 1/3000 chance- not a difference you would think would matter. And yet the non disclosure person would likely be demonised much much more readily than the person who hasn't been tested.
