Quick story: I just recently watched Daton Fix wrestle, in person, at NC State against the #5 ranked wrestler in the country, Kai Orine. Man, the first fckn snap down Fix hit on Orine, he didn’t even score but I could tell right away that Fix was wayyyy too physical for Orine. And I was right (11-3 MD). Fix is truly an ELITE caliber wrestler. Whether he wins NCAAs or not, it was a pleasure seeing a world class wrestler compete.

Not a problem, I like to write statements that make people read or learn about the topic at hand, not just repeat info. While the statement is true, it's also misleading. Just like the News does!! Thanks for engaging. I'm just glad someone read the statement and didn't take it as 100% fact without looking into it.

High School + NCAA career record combined …# of NCAA/HS Titles 4xers Yianni D. 358-5..4/4 Cael Sanderson 286-3. 4/4 Logan Steiber 307-7. 4/4 Kyle Dake 361-18 4/2 Pat Smith 226-10-2 4/3 Few other notables: David Taylor 314-5. 2/4 Vito Arujau. 294-9. 1/4 Kyle Snyder. 254-5. 2/4 ** Dake had 2 HS titles, 3x finalist ** Plus Sanderson had 1 red shirt loss while the other 4xers did not giving him 4 losses in all matches wrestled ** Steiber is said to have 3 college losses and 1 high school but he did have 3 more college losses his freshman year at cklv while attached and before taking a medical red shirt, so they are on there. **all 3 of Yianni’s high school loses came as a 7th grader on varsity. He would not ever lose a match from 8th grade on so if you just include years that were in high school he only has 2 losses combined but he did wrestle varsity in 7th and 8th grade. He would go on to win 210 matches in a row. Won his 8th grade state title over Vito in tie breakers which would be Vito’s only high school loss (216-1) Yianni went 243-3 and 210-0 from 8th grade on. That # would have been much bigger but he choose to have surgery on his elbows his senior season rather than wrestle. He would have had 5 state titles like his brother Greg instead of 4. Amazing Yianni only lost 2 folk matches in a 9 year period. He has quite the resume being a **4x New York State Champ (again should be 5 but no sr yr) **4x NCAA Champ **4x EIWA Champ **4x Ivy league wrestler of year **4x EIWA wrestler of the year **2x Cadet World Champion **Senior World Silver medalist **3x Hodge finalist **3x Super 32 champ (tied for most) **state record in HS for consecutive wins (210 Vito is second with 177).

Man, maybe there's a bunch of media coverage about it, but why doesn't anyone ever ask Dayton about in my opinion the best wrestling match ever, his who's #1 match with Soriano, for both being h.s wrestlers taken into consideration, I want to know how a kid doesn't give up in over 30 minutes of wrestling at the highest level, it's Like his who's #1 match doesn't matter bc of collegiate and his junior worlds are more important, but I have never seen a better more competitive high level match than fix Soriano at flows who's #1... if I was running any top 10 teams in the country I would go hard for either wrestlers, and be happy with the match that in my mind had no looser, 30 min of wrestling, just epic!!!

@@BasicGestaltthere's no world class wrestlers in mma who start at 30, wrestling doesn't happen in a cage, and being able to learn mma grappling is so different from high level grappling, you don't get punched, elbowed, or kneed in the face in bjj or wrestling, usman is a "world class grappler in mma, watch him wrestle an older call Sanderson, there's levels to every discipline, the gsp usman guys only perfect defending mma takedowns and getting up from the ground...khabib is best example, lots of guys don't realize how many ufc/mma guys have a wrestling/bjj background...

I love watching daton do his thing but as a team because he is a cowboy I find it shameful to say the least that he won’t see really any top tier contenders until the ncaa championship which blows my mind, how in the world are u going to work out the kinks if u don’t know what u need improving on???? I think he wrestled aruajo the very first time last year at ncaa and this year he hasn’t wrestled him or rby or teemer? What gives John smith and all the teams do that Iowa just wrestled at the salute? Again embarrassing when your wrestling your teammates in the finals, this is exactly why wrestling will continue to decline if you guys don’t wrestle big matches throughout the year, imagine a ufc tournament where you have Spencer Lee wrestling a whole bunch of freshmen, no one is going to watch that so why do they expect us to

Yeah, that's what Dads with world-class athletes for sons do. They seed unlabeled water bottles with PEDS so that their own kid tests positive in the next random piss test. Parents invest far too much into their kids' success to do something that foolish. No chance.
