I wish I had my 76 Datsun 710 again. Bought it in 77. I have only seen one like it ever. White with a black racing stripe that had "710" cut out of the stripe toward the back. Chrome side pipes that sounded remarkably good. Mag wheels, and a weird but cool looking chrome and wood slat luggage rack on the trunk lid. I believe these were dealer installed options.
Thanks for posting, brings me back to the early 80's when I was into SCCC some of the rides were those 510's, very good at cornering but not as fast a my'73 2.8L MKI Capri. Just good times cruising and helping each other out with our rides, not a lot of responsibilities. Man those were the days back in So Cal
That blue thing is basically my dream car. I will own another 510 one day, and it will be a two door. A two door 510 in that blue. I'd keep the L20 though and bore and stroke it to ~2.4L with some twin 50s. Would also run 15" mini-lites.
Amazing cars and thank you for introducing me to CFCF, great song. Wish i had anyone of these classic jdm rides but i drive a 1970 VW Karmann Ghia. So one day I will own a classic Datsun but until then I can dream about these.
That cream Bluebird Coupe was built by Guichi Rich when he was stationed in Japan. I would usually bristle at the thought of putting an SR in a JDM Coupe, but Rich did auch a tasteful job on that car I have zero complaints. Down to the factory stickers on the door gams and low back seats, he held on to all the proper restoration cues while updating it with all the respect it deserves. I saw it go up for sale on BAT and the comment thread was really heated and interesting. It's great to see this car out in the open. It needs to be seen.
Mark you certainly have a fantastic collection.....Some of these Dattos have quite a bit of our gear "Datsport" on them and the owners were great clients of ours and probably still re as you know owning Dattos can be a lifelong addiction. Also the datsun 510 is my dream jdm car to have because its a classic icon and it has a history to it. Their fast and good at dtifting but im not going to drift too much in my 510
clickclick vroom The irony is that back when these were new, people dismissed them as "ugly copies" of the American and British cars of the same era. Now the few of these that are left actually look good compared to the grossly done post 1972 American stuff
Is there a link or anything to what you did to these cars? I am especially interested in the 710 as I might get one soon and I highly doubt the stock l16 can even make a tire chirp
Now that's a subject I like, classic cars with sleeper powers. Innocent two and four doors that can out pace the so-called sports cars of today, and get better fuel economy too even when the pedal is pushed to the floorboards....

I have two hot wheels datsun 510s one is full mettle and white and the rear lights are lainted red. My other 510 is grey with painted front lights and rear too and the rims too.

Ok it was the Datsun's 720 pickup chrome front con the Datsun's 120Y coupe sedan, it looked crear! I uploaded a video image of the pick up and ghe sedan so you can hace años idea, I was not cable todo fine the picture.
Do you know Datsun isla relaunching un 2014, CEO Mánager Nissan on word press conference said they will be in marketing next year, they might be thi king on write history again by making a world fest datsun show in USA by showing the best ever made cara like yours. Im impressed my brothrer used to have a Datsun 120 y Coupe but the front real (i mean the front of the car fitted perfectly from a nissan datsun pickup with squared lamps) i think there isla a iPhoto of it.
