That's so terrible. I am from africa, and once i realized how houses are built in america i was shocked how people even pay 7 figure and more for these houses so fragile. You can punch the wall and your hands go through the wall, Cheaply made but blurred by luxury finish to make them look so beautiful. And they get so ugly when they age. Go see same houses in africa how they look. You will break your hand trying to punch through it. When you are downstair you don't hear the footsteps of people at upper floor. That's why almost 8 years in america i never really felt like buying this houses. If it was solid there is no way someone would fall through ceiling and hurt themselves. I can't pay so much money for this cheaply made stuff.
Ikr? I'm Mexican and the houses are made of concrete, walls, ceilings, everything. I don't understand why houses are made that way in the United States.
@@elizabethl3235 I am telling you, i don't understand either. It's crazy! Lot of people don't know mexico and other latin countries have very simular culture as africa. We have a lot in common.
You’ll break your hand trying to punch through walls built before the 80’s in America too. I listen to the old folks. They told me don’t buy these new houses. I’m going to buy one built in the 40’s. I had a great experience living in one before…beautiful hardwood floors. The window frames made of pure solid wood, not plastic, and a solid brick house, not brick veneers.
I cannot stop watching. I am so grateful that everyone is ok. I cannot imagine how she is ok. Mom, you and the other person going down the stairs ahead of your daughter's fall narrowly escaped injury as well. Thank God for protection from dangers seen and unseen.
That wasn't just falling through a ceiling. It was crashing down two stories over a staircase and barely missing both the second floor banister and her sibling on the stairs. It's a miracle she's ok. God bless this family. Everyone is commenting how she hit the railing. Sure, but she came down directly over the banister head first. Her leg slammed against the bar after she was on her way down. She didn't hit the banister head first or land on it with her back. So she missed landing on the banister.
A miracle would be something that suspends natural law. This is just some bad luck (falling through the ceiling) and some good luck (missing bannister and sibling). No clue why you think a deity is involved.
How are they building these homes? Are they building these homes to fast and cutting corners? They the contractors gotta make these homes sturdy and with a solid foundation!
Don't get me started on american byulding standards. I can't close my bedroom door too hard without my porch one open. The walls are like paper. It just pisses me off
@@remyd8767 yeah we dont. I'd like houses that are built with some craftsmanship and pride in what they are doing because they are building someone's HOME though, tf
As a plumber I’ve spent a lot time in attics. You must only step on the 2x6 joist . The ceiling drywall below you can’t bare any weight at all. One wrong step and going thru the ceiling below. Don’t let children in there either. Unless they’re older, mature and understand the structure of homes.
If that little one, walking so carefully down the stairs, had been a few seconds slower, it could've been so bad. The outcome is a miracle! I'm so glad everyone is okay!!

When you're in an attic, walk on the joists (wooden slats). Don't walk in between them... unless you want to fall through the drywall. Remember when Chevy Chase did this in "Christmas Vacation?" LOL
Looks like she was in the attic space. As a survivor of TBI, having done the same thing and landed on my head on the cement floor below - don't step on the drywall between joists!! They cannot bear weight at all.
I'm sorry for your suffering. In college, I tutored I young man that had TBI from war. He was so intelligent and such a sweet person. I wish you all the best, and I am sending you many blessings. ❤❤❤ 🙏 🙏 🙏
Did this and didn't fall through but found out wasps were living in the attic walls. This is true, but it is not only true for wallboard ceilings; it is also true for older homes that have plaster lathe ceilings. Don't step between joists period.
The mom instincts that kicked in instantly when that child hit that banister… The mother instantly recognized her child and reached for her, and when she could not capture her, she flew down the stairs to the aid of her child! Actually its a miracle she fell exactly how she did, intially hitting the banister then tumble down the stairs. That served to break her fall and is probably why she was ok after that fall....wow
kids are tough and can fall from much higher cuz they have less weight, it honestly pretty expected for them to be fine, broken limb at most if they landed awkwardly the actual miracle was the toddler on the stairs not getting hit

Doing electrical work in a duplex attic, my buddy fell through but hung up on the rafters. The sheetrock and insulation fell right on an elderly ladies stove and she was making bacon and eggs for breakfast. It startled her and then she was laughing hysterically. As an ex female firefighter, I can tell you what happened. She was in the attic. I don’t know if it was a finished attic or not. I’m assuming not but you HAVE to walk in the beams only. Unfinished attics are extremely dangerous. How do I know, bc it happened to me on a call. I thought I was on a beam, it was no lighting up there and instead the homeowner had a bed rail up there and that’s what I was on. It flipped and one minute I was in the attic. The next I was in her washer/dryer room on the first floor. Im so glad she’s ok 🙏🏽

Oh lord even older houses are easier to fall thru than new drywall because the board is old and brittle. I guarantee your truss centers are spaced at 2' wide instead of 12"-16" which is code now... if I was you I'd stay out of the attic, hire an insured pro

For those watching, if this ever happens it doesn’t matter if the person says they’re fine. They need to go to the hospital. I know someone who fell through a barn roof. Got up, drove home, had dinner with their family, went to bed, woke up, and their side of their stomach was sticking out weirdly. They damn near died from internal bleeding. They’d also had fractured their neck and broken their collar bone, thankfully both were very minor and they only required a stabilization brace.
Head trauma too. If I remember correctly, Kurt Angle's dad fell 15 feet on his head at a construction site. He then decided to walk to the hospital and then later died not long after he arrived. Always better to be safe then sorry.

My brother in law and a few of us were outside on a balcony on the second floor with a third floor above us. The girl upstairs was sitting her baby on the edge and leaning down talking to us.
