They kind of are a close range weapon because in order to do any damage you have to reload right next to the behemoth to get the power up.

I really hope they do more part swapping weapons in the future. Honestly I love to see some kind of support weapon.

I haven't been keeping up, what are the things that you threw on the ground ? And how did you perform the green dash/teleport ?

if they incorporate a bow into the game, im sold.

i have equipped the free repeaters they give you, but when i go to the blacksmith there is no option to make or up upgrade repeaters. how do i make new repeaters?

I supported this game from the get-go because I really liked the dev team and how in-touch with the community they are. And they have kept trying to keep the game headed forwards with systems being changed and polished. But I don't particularly care for what parts they've prioritized. The animation still looks very chunky and combat feels like its happening in pudding.

The sound effects are super puny. Doesn’t have the kind of visual and sound feedback you really really want from a weapon in a game like this

I think peaple just forget that this footage was probably taken in a private lobby. Everybody says it looks too slow, not considering that a real hunt would have more people therefore more action in it

Since you have 2 repeaters why not customize it differently like one is frost and the other is shock

some camera vibration would do a lot to this game, make the hunt more intense that's all u need.

i like the weapon, but the mines just make my booping skills useless now :(

was expecting to be "sweet spot" damage drop-off, like -40%(or 30%)/-0%/-30%/-95% so there's some distance that the repeater will do it's max dmg, and since it is fully ranged weapon. Because on my experience, most of the time, I played it like how I play melee weapon, keeping it close (too close even) for max dmg and reload,dodge if needed, the emphasize of "fully ranged weapon" is kinda weak here, but it is still a fun experience and it just came out, so that might be a good idea oh and the camera angle sometimes mess with Koshai lantern

Hmm, they don't seem all that engaging to me. Maybe have like a rhythm thing going on where you have to press the attack button at the right time after every shot to keep your damage from falling off or grenades do more damage after an aether reload.

Hey Fevir, I'm not really an MMO kind of guy. Me and my friends mostly play CS:GO and other shooter type games. So if you had a suggestion for an MMO we could get into what would it be? (doesn't have to be shooter related, just saying what kind of game we're used to) Ideally something that doesn't require too much of an investment of time or money. We're all in college working 1 or more part time jobs.

how to get repeateres

Kind of disappointed at the lack of the more close range melee playstyle that we were promised. The damage falloff doesn't make it feel great as it doesn't really mean taking huge risks, just walking slowly around to maximize the amount of power we put out. Would have enjoyed a gunblade-ish style that cycled between slashing and shooting. Like the warpike but faster, Or Hyper Light Drifter. Ah, well. I'd still pick it up. Looks like it would at least be fun to customize and spin your own way.

When I think of weapons that take down massive monstrous beasts... pistols aren't usually anywhere near the top of the list... or on it. 2h Swords (yes). 2h Axes (yes). Warpikes(yes). Chainblades (ehhh i guess). But pistols... no way. In my opinion it should've been some sort of Heavy Duty Bow/ mobile Ballista / or Small Cannon.

I think dauntless did a good job staying unique, and not just be a copy of MH :)

tbh.. after playing MHW for 500 hours its hard to go back to dauntless but im happy they added a new weapon!

Dauntless I feel should start implementing new combos/moves for the tools/weapons. They dont all have to be crazy but atleast something. I know people will probably say copying MH genre even more so but its not a bad thing - more combos are usually fun to pull off especially if they give off a huge impact either to the team or the monster :v and in dauntless I feel the hammer is the only weapon that gets close to that kind of options/fun. ( But im not here to talk about the melee weps lol) Take the range weapons for instance, this design doesnt bother me much and im happy you guys seem to incorporate the way MH does it with the dmg fall off yet bonus closer etc. But the way the specials: or whatever are put out idk feel off? Like if I use a bow in MH im using a combo chain to either end with rocks falling on the monster or piercing him or who knows what else depending on the chain. Ok maybe bow isnt the right weapon, L bowgun then - they work the same except the tools they have offer more and even have a mine to plant ( 4 of em) which can be shot to trigger as well. I guess what im trying to say is make things mroe involved ratehr than simply pressing a button and going: hey look I did it where as in MH ( purely range talking btw) I dont feel bored because im constantly up close/ my mines or tools require setup aka I have to read the monster patterns.. the repeaters seem fun guys but the way they handle tools and such feel way to automatic rather than planning.. idk maybe its just me! Gonna try them though! Side note: Something like arts would be fun too... maybe we kind of already have that with the special meter... wait how about later on a way to change/choose our specials?! That be cool. ( like say sword later on has 2 other special options you can choose to equip before the fight.. wait maybe thats to much likes arts.. maybe tag combo specials? eh

Atm behemoths movement isnt adjusted for repeater gameplay. Id rather use godhand.

Is it just me or does it look extremely boring? The sounds are just meh, the animations are barely passable and the gameplay looks really, really slow. Will give it a shot (pun intended), but have very low expectations.

I was thinking that having a ranged weapon would be cool, but the animation and sound design make it look very 'meh'. I can't feel any excitement or proper recoil when it shoots. Not much impact. Sounds are pretty bad. I wouldn't have fun shooting that thing all day.
