Davao City to samal bridge is still in progress, soil testing of chinese contractor near cove lanang/sasa road underway it take years to complete this project, we always pass by there testing points, my house is near to their locations.
Hopefully paspas pag buhat sa Samal Bridge. Long overdue na kaau ang paghulat nato ana. Dili nato ma blame ang mga tao kung ngano skeptical sila kay kapila na gi balita pero way nahitabo pero karon na naa nay finance from China unta ma paspasan pagbuhat.
After this, we can build an airport and make Samal the next Singapore but we will need a leader braver, more sincere, more honest than Lee Kuan Yew. I think the name Lee Kuan Yew alone is already one great economic significance and more if we can develop a leader like him. Samal is for all not just for elite scuba divers. There are a hundredfold landowners in this Island waiting to be economic wonders compared to a handful underwater enthusiasts.
What is wrong with the current airport? Singapore is an international port country with a significant location to access ASEAN countries. I don't think Samal could be like Singapore. Will the cost of making this be worth it?
With the word next, I was delving on economic significance base on your question. I didn't say like. Singapore is bigger in land area but Samal is world class down under and down up. Management wise ahhh Singapore is way ahead. Resources-wise ahhh so many lapu lapu swming and telling us catch-me- if -you-can...
So- the Samal-Davao bridge is finally being built- and thereby so Goes Down Samal! As an American guy who knows Samal very well its actually quite 'sad' to see this 'potential bridge' being built! Why- because then your Upper classes will come in- kick-out The poor (Your poor!) and Over develop- everything! Today as I live here in the US with my Filipino wife we know this old Filipina woman- she's a Leftover 'creature' from the First Prez Marcos regime-'extended 'family'! Although she has Never even been to Samal she owns land there and no doubt now sees 'her chance' in cashing out in selling her soon to be valuable family land! Indeed, I'd say, possibly 80% of the whole damn country is already owned by 3-7% of the Makati-ites! For those of you who have never been to The Philippines/PI there's basically two types of people that live on Prime show-line property- The Well to do and the extreme poor- as they simply 'squat'-- whole villages! Yet, from my point of view- as I've already seen some of these villages simply Leveled and everyone kicked out as The Owners from Anywhere i.e. Manila show up- kick them out for now they want 'their land (That they may have Never actually used!). Adjacent from Samal on the mainland port-area and is a Market pier called Once where boats leave from and to Babak- the main town on Samal. Now this WHOLE pier "burns-down" completely every 2-4 years (Arson Most believe!) yet these people with their houses on stilts and small shops have NO WHERE to go - so they just rebuild it again and again! The Philippines is more like a Latin country than an Asian one and its overall Leadership is equally as "corrupt and of The Devil" as any Latin country (As I lived in Mexico and around Central America its sooo obvious!!) Anyway- Today things are changing i.e. PI piso = P-54 to US $!.- and money overall is getting tighter by the day- so your 'damn bridge' may Not yet ever be finished and if it is- even your Upper Classes won't have the buying power they had even 4 wks ago! And in this its nice to know that Samal will stay Samal- for the poor- dirt roads and all and No traffic lights- yeah! PS I Do know the USA is even more 'corrupt'!
