i love dave Canales for holding everyone accountable for there play

I wasn't this happy about being 0-2 but man dave gets me motivated

Canales has been wanting his shot at head coach for a while. You can tell he’s been preparing and thinking through what kind of coach he wants to be. If nothing else, I think we have the right coach for many years to come.

This coach had my respect and still has my respect for this call. Not afraid to make the best moves to get this team in the right direction and does not care what the rest of the NFL thinks of us handling BY. Let's go Panthers!!

I’m still optimistic

As the head coach, he has to make the hard decisions, and benching Bryce was a hard but needed decision. Canales was not afraid to say it was his decision to bench Bryce. This is probably what Bryce needs to take that next step to improve and build his confidence.

This was a reassuring press conference. I was really worried they were giving up on Bryce which would have been egregious. This makes me support the move knowing this is just a way of letting him gather himself without sacrificing the team’s performance.

This coach is awesome. I was at the game this past Sunday. As the players left the field, Coach was there hugging and talking to each player as they left the field. He cares, speaks well, and once everything is straight- Panthers are going to kick some butt!!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉

Keep Bryce out until Andy gets hurt or until Bryce proves he is ready and make him earn it, own it,and want it.

BRYCE is on contract for 4 years. Bryce needs to sit back, learn, focus, get better, and at some point be ready. The regression this year from Bryce was obvious. He was in a bad situation from day one. He has a chance now to redeem himself and use the talent that God gave him and that is only in his hands. God will help, but he will not do it for you.

Props to Coach DC with that Superman Optimistic Mentality coming from winning seasons with Seattle and Tampa taking the worst team in football that I have so much hometown love for and reminding people that greatness is a process of patience and growth. You have to take a step back to look at the direction of your footsteps and with division titles under his belt and playoff experience Andy is the right guy that Bryce can hopefully learn from in order to lead this team into the next chapter 🖤💙

Defense absolutely improved from week one to 2

One thing I'm noticing about this team. This isn't the first time The Panthers have had a struggling QB. However the defense would usually perform well enough to give a chance. Both sides of the ball are terrible. I've been a fan since day one. I've never seen both sides of the ball be bad. 💯

QBs get taken down all the time nothing new. When we upgraded the offense everyone in the media gave the Panthers a A and B grade so stop with this mess. He a grown man not a little boy

I know Bryce has some pull still, but man Jack Plummer sitting on the practice squad is tough to swallow. I feel like he might have a better chance in the NFL than Bryce

Everyone calm down. Bryce was the number 1 pick for a reason. The best thing for Bryce is watching a veteran for a while. Same thing Zach Wilson needed with the Jets. Everybody relax. Next time we see Bryce on the field he'll be better than ever.

I remember when Bruce Arians let go of Jameis because he didn’t give us the best chance to win, so many fans were upset, and we won a superbowl a year later. I know panthers fans might be down because they want Bryce Young to be the next great QB but sometimes it’s a blessing in disguise when you allow positive change

Dave, did you tell Dave (Tepper) that you believed in Bryce when you took the job? How can you retain credibility if you did? Josh McDaniels did that with Jay Cutler in Denver, clearly lied about it, and was fired after 28 games. Just sayin. Ownership needs to feel like they can trust you.

Bryce is alaoca small qb. He needs to get bigger. As much as i love Dorian Thompson and, how phenomenal he was the nfl makes him look small.

I think he made the right move benching Bryce, otherwise he would be done if we played him this season. He just isnt ready. I was a huge Wilkes guy, but I think Dave is gonna be a good one. The thing is though, we arent as a fan base asking for wins, we are asking for PROGRESS. I think benching Bryce will give him a chance to learn, improve our other young offensive players, and maybe we can start to see the team find a direction. I dont think we should start Bryce any more this year, but let him learn and hopefully get over the shell shock of last season. Then we evaluate.

I am very concerned that he felt we needed to establish the run before we take a shot downfield. 1)Our running back room is not strong. It just isn't. 2)As long as our O is all short game and running, the DBs will cheat up, making separation MUCH harder. The NFL knows that Bryce's long ball is cheeks. Until Bryce develops his long ball and Canales, calls it up, and we connect, our O will suck. You must have a deep threat to keep the DBs honest.

Hey, I'm a Redskins fan we still call Redskins, I watch Bryce play last season and sorry say, Bryce is not that good for the Panthers, some college guys can be no.1 pick and don't become good Quarterbacks in the NFL, Panthers picked the wrong guy!!

How are practices fantastic and not show on Sundays? You dont have a true nose guard so you can't stop the run. The linebackers appear to be slow or could just be the congestion of people.

I feel like he had to bench Bryce look at the stats the dude has had time in the pocket he is small and he is scared you got 52 other players on the team I feel Canales has to try and win for

Couldn’t throw the ball long because Bryce doesn’t have a strong arm for the NFL and it will most likely be overthrown or intercepted. Frank Reich knew this as well

i didn’t like the way he answered. just say you want him to sit and learn the rest of the year. he’s still only 23 and has some experience in the league now. penix is sitting at 25 to learn and love sat til he was 24.
