I truly believe that Dave Chappelle is a top 5 dead or alive comedian. His stage presence, his delivery, his set ups, everything. He’s one of the best, period

Dave's monologues not only always have me laughing out loud, but there's always a message or three, in-between the punchlines, that are thought provoking about serious current social issues. Exactly what a true standup comedian should be all about. Tear down the walls. Blow out the doors. Raise the roof...and all the while making me laugh, and not just think; but Rethink. Chappelle is the GOAT
A great example of this is going from "I've never seen crack smoked so casually before" and to throw in a quick "I'm talking about politics" before moving on to the next bit. It used to crack me up cuz I thought it was a random non sequitur. Now after years it cracks me up because I've realized he really IS talking about politics.

No he is not trying to be anything. Real art doesn't conform to expectations. He know what he feels and thinks, and he knows that not everybody feels the same. But he has courage. And timing.
@Andrew Tregoning 100 disagree. He was Jordan before the retirement, and he's Jordan after. He used to make up more outlandish stories to educate, and now he's more refined in his approach.
I love Dave so much. People need to chill and just appreciate his talent for what it is. Superior comedy. I never get tired of listening to him over and over.
Ive legit watched this and Killin em Softly over 10x each. In middle school, i Used to play Call of Duty for hours and listen to these 2 specials one after another on repeat instead of listening to music. At one point i could memorize it. Chappelle the 🐐
Dave goes places other comics can’t comprehend going. He pulls you into the most absurd scenarios, like an alternate reality, much like Richard Pryor did, and ultimately it proves to be relevant social commentary.
For dave to live in an entirely different universe than us, he's rich and famous, that's a whole different world with different problems, and him to still be able to make us laugh and relate to him is amazing! I love dave Chappelle

One of the funniest comedians EVER! Effortless delivery and storytelling. I have watched this dozens of times and still laugh every single time I watch it.
I remember watching this for the first time after downloading this video about a decade ago onto my school iPad (2014ish) and watching it in the back seat in the middle of the night driving through the city to the airport while my dad went on a trip. Nothing on this sweet earth will ever match how that night felt.

I would honestly argue that he is the greatest comedian of the last 20 years...i have not watches anything this genius in stand up since eddie Murphy's raw..kat williams is another one i really like and would put him a close close second to chapelle.

Despite Dave not being my all time favorite stand up (he’s in my top five or three), the case could definitely be made. Dave was in his prime during this time, his use of the mic and characters was creative and hilarious. Writing wise, all the fat is trimmed, and everything is in service of a joke. His delivery was perfect, you can tell he was already in the zone the minute he greeted the crowd. Would have been amazing to have been there
I remember watching this special in college on RU-vid someone had uploaded in five different parts. Now over 15 years later, I’m still enjoying it as much as I did back then.

it was at this point that i gave up on chappelle. boy did he came back strong. i too have fallen for people laughing AT ME not with me. He turned it around completely in 12 years. amazing human, thinker, comedian. never seen it done before.
Masterpiece. Dave’s body movements, facial expressions, eyes and mannerisms are perfect. His transitions are spot on and the crowd was excellent. Long live the King!

He's been replaced by a clone, can't even do the same impressions, not funny at all, and super muscular where Dave was a different body type. His soul came to me after I noticed, and thanked me for helping him forgive himself for the torture his family went through. Believe me or not, but he's been dead for at least 10 years.
That last bit when he talked about his son was awesome. He’s the best proof You can be a ‘dirty’ comic, have raunchy language, come from a poor neighborhood, all that stuff, and still be a great and loving parent.
