Not sure what to expect. There was something very funny about the whole Jussie Smollet affair. The Will Smith thing is sad, a little harder to make jokes about. If anyone can find the humor in it, I trust Chappelle to do it, but I'm not sure it's worth the effort at this point.
Man, you just gotta love Chappelle. He tells the truth with humor as good as anyone and no matter how hard the snowflakes try they will NEVER cancel him. ✌️
Robin Williams will always be a favorite. Every time I hear -16 degrees I think I would've been bundled up so heavy you wouldn't know if I was white, black, or martian.
Yeah, if anyone has actually been outside when it's 16 degrees below zero, then you know how insane it is to willingly put yourself outside in weather like that. People die in weather like that. Really. And so it would have to be a life-or-death situation to make you be outside in that kind of weather, and a trip to Subway DOES NOT meet that level of importance.

I really wonder what Dave might do. Don't be shocked if it's not what you expect. The Jussie Smollet affair was great material for comedy, the guy brought the whole thing upon himself by making up a crazy story. He turned himself into a circus act. He was trying to advance his career, but ruined it, instead. It's a story dripping with hubris and irony, perfect material for comedy. The only victim was the fool who tried to fool us. And the Chicago Police. The Will Smith/Chris Rock Affair is quite different. It's not especially funny, and it's definitely sad. I think about it and wonder if there's anything funny about it, at all. I wasn't a Will Smith fan, but I liked him, thought he was cool. Now, I really don't want to look at him. I don't hate him, I just don't want to see him. I'm sure Dave will say something and it will be brilliant, but it might not be what we expect. I could be totally wrong, too, wouldn't be the first time.
@@RickTBL … It’s all good mate & yes, we all make mistakes but I honestly think Will has given comics all over the globe “ammunition” to make fun out of the incident but I commend Chris Rock for the way he has handled it. Time will tell about Dave & any other comic with the Oscars incident. I know the SNL crew have already unleashed their take on it 😂😂😂

It wasn't just an incident.... it's called A FELONY CRIME!! You or I wouldn't WALK from this like he did! Just goes to show there is a different standard of laws for certain people!

I can respect someone for this stance because I don't see it as censoring to restrict knowledge or information. It's a moral stance that probably aligns with his religious or spiritual beliefs. I can't fault someone for that.
Dave Chappelle is such a funny man. I don't always agree with his perspective but who the heck cares. The man is freaking insanly creative hillarious and says what he wants to say. We need real comedians like Chapelle and Burr to come back otherwise we are left with people like Amy Schumer! I can't freaking take it!!!!

The 5-Man Mount Rushmore of comedy for me is Pryor, Murphy, Rock, Carlin and Chappelle ... with Bill Burr working his way up the ladder ... Oh, and he died way too early or else Patrice O'Neal would be right up there as well.

I like many different comics for many different reasons but there are 3 that stand out for me… Eddie Murphy, Billy Crystal & Whoopi Goldberg, 3 all-time greats in their field 👍😂
Did you know he had a trans woman as a warm up and she stood up for him. And got bullied for it, untill she ended up killing her self. Dave addresses it in either the follow up show or a mini special after that.
At sometime in the future some academic may offer a learned paper or article about why Dave Chappelle's comic take on the Jussie Smollett Chicago incident is so completely, totally & unambiguously comic. This academic will have an appreciation, for example, Aristotle's understanding of comedy. This academic -- I assume that it will be a 'he', but it may possibly be a 'she' -- will also have read & internalized Freud's paper entitled "Der Witz" (The Joke) -- as well as many other articles by academics on what makes a story or a narrative "comic" or 'humorous." I don't know Dave Chappelle personally, and I have no idea of how much he understands about the intellectual basis of comedy. Nonetheless, it's obvious to me that his "native" or "inherent" understanding & appreciation of comedy is immense. IMHO he's a legitimate comic genius.
