Your compin' aint too shabby either... But yeah, I'm a Grant Green fan myself, love Pat as well. It's a lost art, playing driving single notes , picking hard and groovin... seems to me most guitar players go for that weird 'liquid' vibe these days. Bring the grease back !

I believe that it is actually a part of Pat's sound and is done on purpose. If you listen to different live recordings and albums you can hear that.
