"The longest day" is a song originally released in 2012 by Soulsavers featuring Dave Gahan. This is my reworked version of the song. Video: "De Veluwe" timelapsed by Rick Kloekke Photography. ericlymon.bandcamp.com/
An Éric Lymon cure before feeding ourselves with delicacies...this one has not been heard before. As was to be expected, you have magnified it to heavens. Wow I just can t believe my ears. You could work on DM s forced baby and produce it, that would be the best CD ever released in 2023 till the apocalypse. Plenty of happiness to you and your siblings...from France
У меня ощущение, что это второе дыхание у Дэйва, новое и одновременно хорошо уловимое звучание, которое когда то меня зацепило, аранжировка просто космос, сбивает с ног и уносит куда то вдаль....
There needs to be a Depeche Mode release of Eric Lymon mixes. This is the absolute best stuff since Alan Wilder left DM after Songs of Faith and Devotion. Eric can take Dave Gahan's creations and bring it into that esthetological perspective that only Alan could, much to Martin's frustration. Absolute love to Martin but he has never been able to grasp the meta-aesthetic of the catastrophic epistemology that Dave has been grounded in, driving him into his self-annihilating heroin habit during SOFD. Alan narrated that existential death-drive in SOFD while Martin appropriately hid. Eric Lymon, I've never heard anyone understand the meta-psychology of Depeche Mode until your creations. You're a remarkable artist.
Many thanks for your comment. I don't consider myself an artist ; I have no musical training or play any instrument. (I'm probably not much better then the 2 finger keyboard player that Fletch was.) I always compare the way I work and make music/mixes to creating a painting. (something else I enjoy doing): I create many of my compositions layer by layer and do everything by ear. I know my way around synthesizers, electronics and computers, which I use to add sounds to a sound palette of all sorts of samples/sampleloops that I use (sometimes "borrowing" parts of music from others). I must admit I have always been very inspired by the dark athmospheric and almost cinematic touch that Alan gave to DM's music, but I'm not deliberately trying to remake that sound in my mixes. From what I have heard he worked (works?) in a similar way in his Recoil project; building up music in layers, using (and borrowing) samples, loops and mixing it with his own compositions/creations.
Hey @@EricLymonRemix - google "imposter syndrome". You have raw talent but it's quite possible that dynamic is at play. I've fought it for 40 years. Many of us in cybersecurity struggle with it. The orchestral composition world I came from equally struggled with the dynamic: those who naturally hear the music but don't have the credentials and academic pedigree feel they're worthless. Turns out many of the greatest composers were misfits who also never fit into the institutional rules.
