Looks like this clip has video/audio sync problems when you watching it on some devices. I dont know what youtube has done, but i hope they will fix it!
As others have said, a Gibson Ripper or RD or an Ibanez Black Eagle would be the to go basses but if you can't afford those, Epiphone Thunderbird and Squier jazz basses also do the trick. A proco Rat distortion pedal is what he used but a regular Boss Bass distortion pedal will work too. Amp-wise Krist used a Hiwatt 100 guitar head through Mesa Boogie bass cabs but you could use old Peavey amps instead since they have that brilliance that Krist is known for and in the early days he actually used Peavey amps himself.
This guy interviewing legit knew nothing bout the band. "The big guy" and "Co-Bain". Wtf ? Better familiarize yourself with the band before you interview one of their drummers.
Actually Bill, "this guy" is veteran SNL performer Dennis Miller who was the one that introduced the band for the performance in question. After the incident the camera (which was live) threw back to Dennis Miller who made a great joke and Krists' expense before they went to commercial. It was comedy gold. Better familiarize yourself with the performance before you start making RU-vid comments.
I think what he was implying was Kurt has done way more fucked up things than Krist's face looked, which was a dumb comment and I think Dave tried to interrupt him as he was saying it.
please stop commenting this comment, because everytime I come back to see what you wrote, I happen to see myself listening to that idiot say that again and it's so fucking painful!!!
I think he tried to say that if someone like Kurt, who was a disaster (lets admit it) says to you "dude, that's fucked up" than is because is really fucked up. I don't understand why people get so offended, it was funny.
This is the whole story Someone:DAVE!! Where's Kristt Dave:I don't know? 2 Hours later Dave:Krist! Krist! (Opens up the door) Dave:the fuck? Krist why didn't you invite me and Kurt to drink champagne with Brian May! Krist:I don't know I wasn't thinking of you guys I was just knocked out. Kurt:dude is that Brian May from Queen? Krist:Sure is. Kurt:can I join? The End
MrZombiejoe no man jaj..he is 7 foot. 2, 02 in cm. look at the interviews when dave stands beside him , its a head over him and abit of the neck. i guess dsve is six feet.. a friend was near novoselic and he told me he looks bigger in tv.
Funny, when I clicked the vid in the channel menu it says 10:28 but clearly it's only a little over a minute. I figured I'd have to fast forward or wait to get to this bit but...anyway, weird. Still says 10:28 btw.
Dude he must’ve gotten a ton of Lithium after that. Get it? Cuz they you know played Lithium when Krist knocked himself out..... Get it? I’m not gonna crack
I remember watching it when it aired (I was 14), wondering: "Did that guy hit his head with his bass? Is he hurt? Wondered about this for 28 years, then finally Googled it tonight. Yep!
did anybody notice how this guy changed his presense on interwievs, back when in Nirvana he was very normal and now he is like super empathetic like he isnt quite fit in Nirvana but later when he made his band was like im in charge now!!!! Look Krist in Nirvana how was relaxed and now he is more normal in interviews, total opposite from Dave. Really dont understand why??? They were 4year a band, also he lived with Kurt almost a year... i realize that kurt and krist made a band but they consider Dave a vital part of band also i think
Dave was a huge fan of Kurt's and respected his work a lot, he's made that clear. Kurt was very opinionated, and Dave respected his opinion too much apparently, which I suppose made him nervous. He was shy with his own song-writing in front of Kurt, who had heard him play Merigold alone and encouraged him, asking him to bring the song to the band. I guess Nirvana years may have been Dave's mentorship years under someone he was in awe of.
I think Krist changed largely because in some ways it seems like never fully recovered from the death of one of his best friends. Kurt and Krist knew each other since high school.
lul but krist said on another interview that the amp he was using died out or some shit so instead of just standing there like a dipshit he threw the bass and it hit him..... and even in the recording of their performance you can see he wasnt knocked out but he was on the floor.. idk where dave got this story from
