Stern has a very un gentle way of discussing emotional trauma with someone who lived it.

Dave knew his place and stuck to it, that's a real pro in those scenarios.

Wow. I love Dave’s straight forwardness. I respect the man respecting the way Cobain worked and I’m glad he got to become his own man in many ways.

I can tell from Taylor’s quiet , calm demeanour that he brought a lot to the band ; in the same way Dave brought a similar energy to Nirvana

Stern had the balls to ask some great questions. I just wish he'd given Grohl the chance to elaborate a little more on them than what he did. Stern rapid fired a bunch of good questions in a row.

Dave really handles these questions well, I didn’t like how they asked them They could have been so much more respectful.

You can tell even today when Kurt died that Krist changed forever. It's like losing your other half and both Krist and Kurt were fighting at the airport for Kurt to get rehab. That death shocked Krist into being sober because when you saw him in the 94 MTV music awards he looked like a completely different person.

Grohl wrote and sang 'marigold', the b-side of heart shaped box. I'm sure he was given more than one dig at a song, but none of them made it onto an album. Marigold is a lovely wee song, too.

The interviewer gives to my nerves. He talks more than Grohl and constantly interrupts him with a follow-up question before the previous question was even fully answered.

Funnily enough one of the things that got me loving music again after Kurt's death was the foo fighters first album which Dave did pretty much on his own. Dave is still my favourite living rock star to this day

I love David Grohl..he shares his life so freely and makes us feel like he is our own personal friend...and he is.

you can see how hard it is on him just to talk about this. what a harsh life these guys had. we sit there and think "ye but his famous and cool and rich", but you that sits there, not sure you had the pain these guys held together. being in a band trying to make it, being friends with a deep connection, actually making it, then everything crashes, your friend dies, and then build yourself again. never to really recover. as we can see from the way he speaks about this. and the fact that he really never took the drum set again. just to painful emotionally. it could be even a really sad thing. congrats to Dave on not doing drugs and coming out of it.

I watch this from time to time but i still can't stop smiling whenever i see Taylor waiting and listening to the story like a fan like most of us

Things happened the way they happened and we should just be thankful we got some much amazing music from both these bands. Kurt and Dave will both go down has rock legends for all the ages to come

Dave is such a HUMBLE, UBER-professional...., he will be iconic forever and was so proud to run in to him one day in the valley. He was as REAL as any GOOD SHIT you know!!

Okay but Howard is such a good interviewer. I believe he asked the questions fast because that's how you get a natural response, you don't let the other person think of a fake or mild response but an honest, raw response. As an interviewer, he's smart and quick, I like him.

You gotta hand it to krist and dave though, 24 and 27-ish yrs old at that time, played in nirvana for 3yrs. Never had to work a job ever again.

I've met Dave Grohl. like others have said, he's a great guy, down to earth, puts his pants on one leg at a time. I'm very happy that in terms of his music career his dreams have come true.

Stern got no filter and doesn't use soft words to water down the things he says. I respect that

Great interview! I've always wanted to hear someone ask these straight forward type questions about the final days. Everyone always beats around the bush or doesn't talk about Nirvana.. Also I still think Courtney had Kurt offed, and maybe Dave or Krist knows the truth deep down, but can't and/or won't ever say a word.

God I love Howard stern ! I remember the first time I was introduced to him was in 2001 or 02 but it was when he was E and crazy stuff was happening ha talented man.

Can you imagine the moment Dave and Krist met after Kurt's death? Just thinking about it I start crying. :c

Hello Howard Stern Iam from australia i have huge respect for Howard Stern. This is heartbreaking iam a singer songwriter myself but I wanna be a solo artist. My dream is to live in. New York city i love Howard I saw him on Jerry Seinfeld comedians in cars getting coffee and he opened up about his father and it broke my heart cause I went through domestic violence from my own father

With those questions, I want to know too. But I think it's always second to the end of the world for Howard. Give a damn time for the man to answer!

Wait What? Dave Grohl doesn't remember how or when he heard that Curt Cobain was dead?!? I remember where I was when I heard Howard Cossell announce on Monday night football that John Lennon had been shot & I wasn't even in the band(I was in elementary school)WTF?! Wouldn't that be a precise moment in time for a drummer in a globally popular rock band?
