In 1969 when i was a junior high kid, i skipped school and happened to enter the theater and found myself being comfortable listening to this music. 55 years ago. Time flies!
My parents took me to Radio City Hall to see this movie and I was mesmerized by the soundtrack, I was in 3rd grade then .The movie was outa sight ,man.
I saw this movie in the theater multiple times. It's one of my favorites, as is the soundtrack. I'm so glad to be able to hear it again ... & again & again & again. ❤
Two of my best friends and myself actually skipped school (end of senior yr) to go to the filming of this movie.. how great that was, got to meet the cast as well as drivers and everyone was so nice. Great memories of long ago.
How amazing ! I'm so jealous but in a nice way. Did you meet Paul Newman and Robert Wagner. ?? What a treasured memory for you. I love Paul Newman . Fantastic actor and great humanitarian.
@@juliaread8980 yes we got to meet the whole crew and everyone was very nice. Won't mention his name but I also met a driver I dated for awhile. Great memories.
My girlfriend's father was the PR at Road America & got me work as still photographer & 2nd camera for the opening credits for this project. My first & best work came from this film as well as many memories after work at Howards Grove w/ Paul, RJ, David & Richard (Later to be John Boy on the Waltons) over beer (For Richard & me - Near Beer), Bratts & Slim Jims - Thanks for the memories!!
This brings back many memories as I worked as PR, in addition to 2nd camera on this project. Some of the opening titles in Elkhart Lake Road America were my work. I was in my 2nd year of college and dating the PR director's daughter, which got me this job - still think of Cindy. Paul & Robert were a pleasure to work with, even after work in Howards Grove but best were David Sheiner & Richard Thomas (later became John Boy on the Waltons). Thanks for bringing back those treasured memories.
My beautiful older sister had this LP and played it quite often, back in the day…It introduced me to the great bass playing of Carol Kaye and of course, ‘ composer, Dave Grusin’
My first year at The Track Bob and Paul were hanging out at a suite. Being a young dumb kid, we yelled down and got their attention, and snapped a photo. 1967 AJ won Winning music, and Dave are the greatest
Why did everything just seem better back then. Great film, great actors, great cars, great racing and wonderful music. Does anyone have a time machine? I’ll buy a one way ticket please! 😉👍
Without a doubt my favorite soundtrack. I often take rides and listen to this music. I cannot understand why the movie and soundtrack are not readily available
Absolutely beautiful. So relaxing and takes me back to the time when this movie was made. I remember seeing this movie on TV back in very early seventies. Just Fab !!!! 👌 Im so glad I found this. Thanks for posting 😊

My beautiful, older sister bought and played this quite a bit in 1969. That’s Carol Kaye on bass, throughout the track. One of the reasons I became a bass player..
@@fmscores Thank you so much Jean for uploading this directly from your vinyl. I think it’s so sad that this beautiful soundtrack hasn’t been generally available for many years now. A great shame. But thank you! 😘
