I was at this show. 3rd or 4th time seeing them. This is what stood out from the show, had never heard Good Good Time before that evening. Chased that sound and memory for years until I discovered this video later on. This was the band still in their absolute prime, at their absolute peak.
Had never heard this song before, as crazy as it might seem. Been to at least 3 concerts a year since 2004 and a huge fan beyond that. Man, LeRoi really rips into this song when he comes in on his solo! I saw him play his last show ever at Hershey this year, and he will be missed deeply by anyone who follows their music. This is hands down the best DMB song, it needs to be played more, and to have it here on youtube at my home venue, is awesome. thank you uploader and R.I.P LeRoi!! in your heart, you know that the truth always shines on

I was there @ Hershey for this show & this is my FAVORITE version of Good Good Time! Which is a song I ABSOLUTELY LoVE! It also one of my favorite dMb shows of the 197 shows I've seen!
This show was in my hometown and I use to go with my sister and last year i was looking at my past shows and went I got this song? I give thanks to the tapers and RU-vidrs. One of my favorite songs!
I think that 04 was the one of the best, perhaps the best tours of DMB of all time. I know everyone says that about their year, and I totally respect that. But for me personally I went to 3 shows at th e Gorge, then saw them at Golden Gate in SF with Carlos Santana. The songs on that tour, all the standards, plus sugar will, shotgun , and other rarities. It was truly magical... RIP Groo Grux King 🙏💜🙏
My favourite song they've ever done that's never been on an album, and one of the rarest to hear live--it's been played less than 30 times ever--and I've somehow been lucky enough to have heard it live twice. Besides having one of Dave's best guitar parts ever, the most awesome thing about it is that, like the song #40, Dave's never actually written lyrics for the song--he's improvised them on the spot every single time. Amazing that he can make up a tune that good off the top of his head...
I heard #40 played in full at Saratoga this year and it was absolutely incredible. This song is next on my list that I'm dying to hear live.. Maybe next year!
ChalandlerBing See, and I'm hoping to get what you got at some point, somewhere. The closest I got to hearing #40 was a short tease of the riff at the start of a show 14 years ago--no vocals, or anything like that--just Dave goofing around on the opening riff for a bit. It's one of the last live rarities I'm still hoping to cross off: that, Christmas Song, I'll Back You Up, and Let You Down. Fat chance, I know, but, maybe next year...
DMB affects me like no other band can or ever will!!! I know when I walk through those gates at any venue that I've ever seen them at that I can park all my worries at that gate and forget about life for 3 SOLID HOURS!!!!!! 70+ shows and it NEVER gets old!
One of the greatest GGT ever. I get soo excited at least once a tour when he teases this.. and I've even been lucky enough to hear 1 minute or so before Dave loses the scat...but at least this gem is on RU-vid to fill the void once a week.
They are crazy for not putting this on an album! What a great song! I'll be praying they play it at the last stop in St. Paul this year...with both fingers crossed! :)
haven't seen the band since '05 (stand up left a terrible taste in my mouth), but this remains one of the best shows of any band i've ever seen. and these 10 minutes were really special at the time.

@ bmcougar2007: I agree- I have been listening to this song non stop this week & it's bittersweet. I found myself wishing they'd bring it back, but then not really, because it won't ever have the same feel w/out Roi. It might be the same lyrics & music, but in my view Roi personalized a lot of DMBs music w his gentle, but deep soulful playing. His sound had a certain presence that is irreplaceable. I'm so grateful we have so many recordings :)
