I remember seeing them at Giants Stadium in like 00. During this song, it actually started to rain. "Rain...rain.....rain down on me!" Dave was soaked......and his acoustic whaling. Everyone in the stadium was connected. It was magical. truly a unique experience. Then I threw up from drinking too much and some random dave girl started making out with me. gross. oh man. memories.
Great story - I have a buddy that threw up and passed out at a Dave show in lawn Richmond 1996. Some random girl gave him a hand job while passed out! Hahaha we always trip out about that one.
Commonwealth Girls do some weird shit sometimes . I’ve thrown up at a get together and passed out and this one girl kept telling them to give me peppermint it’s ok .... Jesus Christ .
been having strange inclination to revisit the lillywhite sessions lately. grey street, captain.... jtr again one that always lingers. one could easily make the argument for their best dave album ever. still mindblowing.
During the summer of 2001 I moved to Chicago to broaden my horizons and also move in with a gal that I had been seeing long distance. It only lasted a little while. I left to handle some things back east and shortly after I discovered some things about her that did irreparable damage to the relationship. About a month or two later I decided to move to Chicago anyway. I had met and agreed to join a band previous to this new found info and honored our agreement. Fall came, winter hit. Frosty, with few belongings, taking up residence on an air mattress in a back room of the house that was really nothing more than a storage area turned livable, I remember listening to this song on my roommates' boombox many times. It truly imprinted on my feelings of life at the time, the season, processing heartbreak and the transition into a new phase. I will always love this song from the album in particular.
It's a shame that they scrapped the Lillywhite Session. I know they did most of these songs on Busted Stuff, however, I think if Lillywhite did the full production on this, this would have really been a classic DMB album!
I have The Lillywhite Sessions on cassette tape! It's was the only way to bootleg it. I saw them do this in Chicago in 2000. What a treat considering I'd travelled from Denver to that show 🙌🏼

Lily white sessions was a scrapped album and it was leaked. Only reason we’re able to find it here is cus of the leak and we are lucky we even have that.
