Love how he truly seemed tickled by the stuffed pig right up front!

When I was 20 years old, a good friend of mine died. He was only 22. This song came on while I was driving to his funeral. It really spoke to me, and 20 years later it still brings me to tears and brings me right back to that very moment.

A very underrated song from them. DMB puts me at ease everytime I listen to them.

The genuine smiles/looks he gives that kid with the plush pig!!!. Good chance that wasn’t on the original set list.

What a remedy to cynicism and despair. They grab hold sometimes and the world seems to shrink and get so prickly from all directions, or, worse, like the Nothing in Neverending Story: that absence that eats away at the imagination and life itself. This song puts the light back in my hands and reminds me to carry it forward. And reminds me to just go a little crazy now and then, and laugh it all back into shape.

I will ashamedly say that I always wrote this song off until about a year ago. now it is one of my favorites. Just hits different. Funny how life events can change the thoughts you have about a song.

I grew up Catholic. I got sick of the shame & fear & being possessed (Exorcist at age 6)… I gave up the magical thinking & was finally able to sleep at night with no fear. I became fixated & obsessed with the sciences, and it became the foundational framework of my deep spirituality… No faith needed. It’s right there in front of my face. it’s incomprehensible, and it’s beyond me. There are things that exist that we can’t possibly dream of or comprehend. It’s beyond God. It encompasses everything that is, and that can ever be. So is this not enough staring down at the ground?

This was my first dmb concert and I’m going again to the same venue to see them this week
